Did some of you geeks find that no matter how hard you tried, you didn't get on with certain brands of gel / l&p despite their excellent reputation? I mean, I am struggling with lifting at the moment and I'm sure it's just due to my prep, but at what point do you try another company? And can changing brands really help?

x

I have to say a big yes to that, else we would ALL be using the same product, I have just tried out a brand of gel that my friend raves about...me I cant get on with it at all..I know training in a product has a hell of a lot to do with it, but I also think you have a FEEL for what you can work with.
Its the same as L&P and gel some can some cant some can do both. I am trying to come to grips with L&P at the moment I wont give up, but its taking me longer to 'get it' than it did with Gel..xx

yes and no.
yes changing brands can help if your initial one wasn't good. no if you already use the best, or amongst them.

improve your prep skills... and your products, and your ratio, bead placement, etc.

but in my opinion testing other brands is never bad. you keep an eye on what's happening, and an application method, or ratio, can corrispond to you more. that's why many brands have trial kits ;)
I never felt the need to change from OPI. but I think I have tested all the other l&p systems available in my country and even further, when I train.

It worked for me. Originally I was trained with BioSculpture and the most of my overlays were ligting and tip extensions were just clicking off. I though maybe this is due to poor preparation or I migh be applying the product the wrong way. I took a troubleshooting workshop with BioSculpture and gues what? They told I am doing it the right way... I was shocked. Since then I have converted to Nail Creation, which is file-off gel and these problems are gone. (Sounds like and ad :))

on this subject, it is due to Bio not fitting every kind of nail indeed. whereas buff off gels usually make the job for anyone who passes the door.

If your problems re lifting etc are fundamental then changing your brand won't make a scrap of difference.

If the problem is your product then changing brands could make the world of difference.

Hi noodles, what brand are you using at the moment hun? It may not make a difference but I am just curious as to what brand you're using,
