hiya am sorry I am asking so many questions lately but theres still things I need to learn! How do you sculpt nails and what do you use to do it? Is this for people who have badly bitten nails?

i would really recommend a course for sculpting, its not something you could learn from an answer on a thread really..were you not taught or even demoed this already at your training provider?

i agree - you defo need a course for this as it is a skill that has to be perfected and therefore you need to be guided and shown how to sculpt correctly from the start. Who did you train with hun? You could contact them and ask if they do a workshop for nail sculpting.... i know ezflow and nsi both do one!

Hi Ellie, I notice from your profile that you say you are training, its all very exciting & addictive when you first start training and many of us want to run before we can walk, I would say slow down a bit and allow yourself the time to become confident and enjoy the different stages of your training, your tutors will know when you are ready to move on to sculpting, if I can say its like taking your A levels when you haven't yet got your GCSE`s you just wouldn't be prepared and might not go about it the right way. Also its something I feel is visual learning with a tutor guiding you. You will get there just take your time dont rush you will be a better technician for doing so.

I agree, sculptured nails are really tricky to get the hang of, you need to get some training in this technique then practise like mad! Sculptured nails are very strong and more tailored to the clients natural nail than tips. The whole nail is 'sculptured' (obviously) from acrylic without the use of a tip. The nails are prepped and primed, a foil or form is applied under the free edge and white acrylic is applied, then pink. The nails are then filed to desired length and shape etc.

I love doing sculptured but they are slightly harder work than tips and not to everyones liking
