How do you stop your costume jewellery from going green/irritating your skin at work?

So im getting annoyed at tryong to remember to remove my jewlerey and watch when im at work and shampooing. ive just brought a new watch and its so shiny and lovely at the moment so i wonder of anyone has any tips for me so that it wont turn green or itch my skin if i was to get it wet at work or sprayed with products?……...

I used to put clear nail polish on them, any brand. I tend not to wear costume jewellery for that reason anymore but when I did nail polish did the trick.
