Hi guys just wondered how everyone funds all the courses as there are quite a few and they are costly? Just wondered as it will take me a long time to do the courses I want as I'll simple have to save as have not much free income to play with!

I work 4 jobs.

I think allowing a dollar amount or percentage once you've qualified helps. When I do my prices I allow an amount for training. It needs to be counted as one of your overheads.

I have a standing order that goes into a post office account, this is for tax bill and courses. As it goes directly out of my account, I don't miss it.

also, if I have enough money in my biz account, I just sign up for a course.

im currently saving like crazy! i have a tin and have cut down on everything nights out, eating out,and worst of all wine! every time i think of buying a new top or something i come home and put the cash in my tin! ive done a car boot too! trust me 4.30am is not a nice time to be up on a sunday! :irked:
THIS COURSE BETTER BE WORTH IT!!!!

hi,
ive spent the last four years saving and training to add to my services as i go along-nearly there now!
Have just started my last course on monday Hairdressing NVQ 1+2!!!

Good luck, you will get there with determination and guts :)

i also save a % of my net earnings for courses and like already said you dont miss it and cutting down on splurges is a good tip also:)

i usually end up telling hubby he can hget me a course for birthday etc.. i am much happier doing courses than getting a load of stuff i dont need to be honest , lol

ive sold things on ebay.
ive had money for christmas and birthdays.

Its worth while speaking to your local college too, anybody who hasnt already got a level 2 qualification is entitled to free course fees to take a level 2 qual (eg NVQ2 BTEC...) Sometimes your college willwaiver the fee even if you already have quals if they think you would do well on a course, but would suffer financial hardship from paying course fees......

Saved for 8 years, the savings took a bit of a beating when we had kids, so it took longer than what we hoped, but we got there in the end!

Work extra! Fortunately I work for social services at the mo, where I can get extra shifts as and when I like to cover extra expenditure I have :)

First course, saved like mad and since then, just like when I buy products I use the profits form my nail work to pay for the courses.:green:
And if that fails I give Paul the puppy dog eyes and he helps me:lol:

contact the company you want to train with and ask them if you can pay them a bit at a time and book the course when you have paid for it
