Just had a gun in from a customer which somehow stopped spraying despite the fact the customer is adamant they meticulously strip it down and clean it regularly.
On first inspection having removed the pin all looked fine however when trying to unscrew the nozzle retaining nut this was seemingly welded on and took a hefty wrench from a specialized tool to finally release the nut.
The attachment picture shows that despite the apparent repeated cleaning this is what was found inside the nozzle.
This is a build up of limescale in all the outlet holes, under seals and gradually filling up the spaces.
The problem is that once limescale builds it then acts as a filter device filtering out any metallic or gunk content in water used to wash through the gun..kind of like petrification.....and then becomes almost like a solid clump of metal.
After considerable effort cleaning and lubrication the gun was saved and is now working properly...luckily for this customer as these particular guns are expensive to replace.
Just as a precautionary warning ,particularly in hard water areas, please when you clean your equipment please also take the head off from the nozzle as well....a good cleaning followed by a blast of WD40 will increase the life expectancy of your gun , effect a much more even tan outcome and save you money in the long run
