Hi,

I had a busy salon with three therapists 3 years ago now which i sold when i had my little princess. I have decided to start back to work and set up a room from home and also offer mobile, I have written to 240 clients so far that used to have their nails done with us, done a leaflet drop to 700 houses, got my website up and running done all of this in the last 2 weeks. I have 7 appointments booked for the next 2 weeks from 3 clients but can't think what else to do to get clients as it's alot more difficult without passing trade. How long did it take you guys to build a good client base and can anyone sudjest anything else i can do. I do nails, beauty, spray tanning

Thanks

get a shop with passing trade hehehe
you seem like your doing all you can at the moment. its hard for mobile techs.

I work from home and to be honest all my clients came from word of mouth from the initial few I gained from advertising/leaflet drop........good luck xxx

I have recently designed my own website and advertised my services on gumtree.com, and I have found this really helpful! I've had loads of enquires and lots of new clients!

Isn't it a tad unethical to sell your business and then later write to your old clients to ask them to come back to you??? I certainly think so. Isn't that what the person bought from you ?? .. your business plus existing client base?

thinking about it in that sence, yeah i think thats bad too. a little bit naughty

Not at all, sold my business to hair salon who also do beauty but not calgel nails, it was agreed in the sale i would keep the details of the the calgel clients. I actually own the building and these are my tenants now so obviously wouldn't want to upset them, so i'm not doing anything wrong .

I apologise for jumping to the wrong conclusion. I can only say that so many are unethical in business these days that I was too quick to assume the worst. I always tell others not to assume as it makes an ass out of u and me!! And you see... it does. I should listen to my own advice.

No worries. x

hi missy, Rome wasnt built in a day!! If you read other threads everyone is complaining how quiet it is at min. You've ticked all the boxes re advertising, if I were you ld push word of mouth, do a discount if they refer a friend. I would say a yr to get any sort of reg income tbh.

o.k thanks, im not in to much of a rush, not worked for 3 years now as i'v been stay at home mum.Just wanted to make sure there was nothing else i could do.

Thank you. x
