About as far South as you can get!
I ask because I'm about to do an NNO on myself with tips as I don't have any sculpting forms, prepped n everything and the glue I have won't open, so I remembered my Speedbond I got in my starter kit at the end of August. The thing is totally dried up in the long spout an I can't get any glue out

I know it was a few months ago I got my kit, but it's never been in extremes of temperature as my kit is in my house.

Is this usual?

I'm going to have to get myself some new glue anyway but how annoying is this?!

I bought 5 gel bond tubes and 2 of those were hard when i went to open them....

Did you send them back? I was going to but then thought I couldn't be bothered with the hassel as it's only one tube :irked:

That was me .... oh couldnt be bothered with the hassle....They were from Elissons so i will tell them when i next go in.

As for shelf life they prob have got one but no idea how long for...

i dont use adhesive any more haven't for a couple of years ... i do have some though and i used some one some boots at the weekend ! its fine ... i keep them for emergencies !!

sarah cant you cut the nozzle down a bit further and squeeze slower ?

if you can wait till i plan to come see you end of the week i can bring you a tube, otherwise ring your supplier - maybe they had a rogue batch ? it happens

The general rule of thumb is that an adhesives shelf life is about 12 months from manufacturing. Just keep in mind that between manufacturing and distribution, that 12 months will be less for the end user, although 12 months is also a minimum :)

If the adhesive has been opened, then there there is a good chance that either it has dried out or that a cap has been put on while adhesive was still on the nozzle (in effect 'adhering' the cap to the nozzle). If it is unopened, then give the distributor a call and get it returned!

On a side note, make sure you store adhesives in a cool, dark place (i.e. a drawer). Excess heat can cause it to solidify in the container.

HTHs!

Thanks guys :)

Samuel, I only tried to open it today but I got it in my CND starter pack when I began my foundation training in August with Denise in Crawley. I'll ring her and see if I can get it swapped over.

Thanks for the offer Karren, but I'll be popping into Sally's in the next couple of days anyway so I'll pick some up from there

xx

If you got it from Denise (an Authorised CND Academy) then send it up to us and we will take care of you :)

Thank you Sam, I'll do this tomorrow

I'm glad you're sorted :) I had the same problem with a tube of speedbond I got in my creative kit last month, it had totally dried out although I binned mine so can't send it back :irked: I wouldn't have tried to open it but I'd ran out of gelbond and in the end I had to dash out to Sallys and buy adhesive from there x
