It would depend what each facial range had to offer as to what you could offer on your treatment list. Most have an anti ageing, purifying, sensitive skin, lifting and firming and clarifying, this is something you would need to research though.

You would need to think about what type of facials you want to offer i.e aromatherapy based!Eve Taylor supply a very reasonable starter pack to mobile therapists. They are aromatherapy based and have lots of different facials to suit different skin types.

I would like to use Darphin which is what we used in the salon however this is very costly and I am sure you cant use if mobile.

Equipment wise you would need a couch, mag light, probably a steamer not to mention all your sundries. When you do your course they should go through all of this with you.Where are you doing your training?

I am doing my training with hands on beauty it is a facial treatment diploma accredited by the guild. I have a couch as i do waxing and ive ordered a portable steamer, i will have a look for a magnifying lamp. I will take a look at the eve taylor range ive heard good things about the products, but i would also like to offer a more known named brand aswell but one that will let you order for mobile use without a really high initial order. x

The problem is the 'really well known brands!!!'tend to cost the earth when starting up and dont let mobile therapists use them(not all but most require you have a minimum amount of rooms in a salon before they will let you use their range)The other reason a lot dont allow you to use certain ranges when mobile is because they promise their customers(the salons)that nobody within a certain mileage will be allowed to use the same product range.

With a mobile therapist they would have no way of ensuring that Mrs Smith 2 doors away from the salon isn't having the very same product used on her during her facial by her mobile therapist!!So the ,'promise',would be broken, hence why the refuse mobile therapists.

It takes a long time to build up a clientele when starting out,it may be worth you building up first with say a cheaper range, then thinking about bringing in a more well known one.I know this from experience as used to work mobile.I ended up with a lot of stock that went out of date.Facials aren't in huge demand though definately needed within your treatment list.HTH

Thanks for the info i think I might go with the eve taylor range and see how popular the treatments are. XX

Just had a look at the eve taylor website again and you have to be a member of babtec so I think I will have a look for a different product range any recommendations greatly received XX

Crikey it was so long ago that I registered with them I have forgotten:).I would call them save flaffing around or email them.

Hi, I was thinking of bringing this up with Chris Taylor (Eve's son) when I see them at Exel at the Beauty Fair as I'm sure it is far more important to quote an Insurance Policy Number than a trade association one. I happened to be FHT when I registered but have since changed to BABTAC anyway. If you give them a ring, the girls are very helpful in the office.

Eve Taylor is a lovely range to use and covers all the prescription facials you would want to do, plus there is the aromatherapy range as well - so you could offer holistic facials as alternatives, if you want to.

I use SwissDermyl and I can't rate it highly enough. There is no minimum order, no minimum starter order, and the people there really know their stuff about skincare.
It's a truly transformational range of products and their modular approach means that you really can offer completely bespoke facials to suit your client's needs.

Thanks for that lynne I will have a look at those products too. X
