How many times have you done your own nails in one day ?!

I have done mine twice today inbetween hairdressing ! I did a nno and they lifted before I had finished ! I phoned Georgie from EZF got a couple of pointers conversion courses are a must as I realised I had made 3 mistakes, so did them all again, so far so good !

plenty of cuticle oil now tho !

I've yet to them more than once in a day, however I never have a set left untouched for 2 weeks. There is always a little something that I have to change. I'm going to try and challenge myself to no redos until the needed fill!

in school i think i changed 4 times in a day, i had nobody to practice on so did on myself. glad it was only polish designs though. and if i dont like something i will "play" with it for days for it to be right on my own nails...too bad i don't have that luxury with clients...lol

I do mine as few times as possible ... :green: I've never done them twice in a day and not even twice in 3 weeks! It is not good for your natural nails to do and re-do so often as you will eventually find out. Then you'll be one of those many techs who hide their own nails and give out the lame excuse, "well mine look awful at the moment. I need a rebalance!!" When what they really mean is .. their nails look awful because they have not cared for them.

Ha ha ......... I know nail techs!!

Whenever I'm around they all hide their nails and tell me the 'rebalance' one OR the other one that is a classic is ... "My nails look terrible because I let a student work on them!!" Of course I really believe THAT one .... not! Do they think I just dropped off a Christmas tree?

I don't practise what I preach therefor my nails are well...non existant...
There, I said it out loud :green:
Mind you I do use them to scare clients from riping their own off and it works

Geeg you did not fall off the christmas tree, you are our nail fairy all year round

i think ive done one hand twice in one day which was because i decided i didnt like them after i did them but otherwise i only maybe do mine once every 3-5 weeks.i cant be bothered with all the hassel, lol.x

I've never done mine twice in a day but I do keep them looking nice all the time whether its polish or enhancements. They are my key advertising, I get a lot of business from my own hands. Sometimes I wear bright opi colours on a hot summers day and I take them out with me as I always know that one of my friends will want the same!

i know what you mean.it was because i usually have mine square shaped and i was trying out a different shape so i couldnt practice on a tip as i wouldnt have known if it would suit me or not.i just couldnt put up with them so i re did them, glad i only did one hand, lol.
thankgod for glaze n go as it really saves me from ruining my nails and allows me to only have to do them about once a month.x

I bet you were well stressed  When I do my 'wrong' hand I find my tongue is sticking out - thats how focused I am

Hi,
Never have time to do them more than once in a day.
A lot of the time, it is one hand one day, other hand the next day.
Except when we were going on hols, was sat in my nail room until 3am, we had to be up at 4am...........But I never looked at the time until they were finished, as that would have really stressed me
I have been known to have 5 different nails on one hand, that was in the early days when I kept practicing different looks, but my right hand was left alone.
I have now ......only just managed to do my wrong hand and be happy with it........takes me ages.
Lotsa luv x x   x x

Oh my god after doing them twice I felt I'd wasted a whole day !

Mind you its a long time since I have done L&P so I needed the practice and weyhey I have had them on now for a whopping 2 days without lifting !

PS.
(I think I have a bit of pocket lifting on my pinky, I can see a tiny hair in the acrylic ( I had done a haircut and must have come off my top or something ) could this cause pocket lift ???)

I doubt it, pocket lifting is more likely caused by pressure - an incorrectly balanced nail (too thin at stress area) Th ehair will be seen as a foreign object and unless it affected curing it is just suspended in the product. HTH's

Thanks for that, when I looked properly I could see that it was a tiny hair that had gone down my nail, I have had them alot in the past as well as hair in feet and the most painful is when they get in your bra and embed into your **** I've got it out now !

I've been walking around since Friday with one hand and one thumb done - just haven't had the chance to sit and do the others. Spent Sat afternoon in casualty with my daughter, who's hurt her elbow and now has her arm in a sling, and since watching her like a hawk!
