Hello chaps!
I'm just kitting out my new salon and I'm dithering about how many towels I'm going to need! I was also dithering about what colour to get too, but I think we've settled upon chocolate given I'm not doing nail extensions! I like the idea of chocolate as a rich, sumptuous and elegant colour, and not too girly either.
My salon is one treatment room, and I shall be offering the usual services. How many towels should I invest in, and what sizes?!
Thanks in advance!

It all depends on how busy you are and what treatments are the most popular. I'd start off with a dozen. You can always get more.

hi Calla,
chocolate or beige are really nice, or both!

You need 2 large BATH towels and 2 hand towels per treatment.

If a client is having a facial or something then you don't really need to replace the bath towels, what I tend to is either use couch paper or a batik. to cover the area that the client is exposed on.

It depends if you are going to use couch paper or not on how often you will need to change the towels.

More then you think! I try to have at least two days worth of towels. They take a long time to wash and dry, its very easy to have a busy day and then be left with no clean towels for the following day.

I always get dark towels now - lighter ones can stain easily, and can look gruppier a lot quicker.

Im just a nail tech, but Ive seen me go through about 25-30 towels a day, especially in the height of summer when Im doing 4-5 Spa Pedicures a day. But yes it does depend on how busy you are.

Chocolate is a lovely colour, and as Mat says wont go grubby like a pale colour!

I got some fab towels from Matalan, they were so cheap, but have been washed and washed and still they are fluffy and soft!

I have 1 bath sheet & 1 bath towel covering the couch.

For facials or body treatments I use another 1 of each. I go through no end of hand towels.

I'm not always up to speed on my washing & drying of them but I think I have about 5 of each bath sheets & bath towels, & about 12 hand towels. You will get through a lot, especially if you do or are planning on doing body treatments.

Chocolate brown is a fab colour & we use choc brown towels when we do chocolate face or body treatments. (our choco towels are as well as the amount above:eek:).

Being a huge fan of various shades of blue, teal or duck egg looks really nice with the brown. Of course this depends on your colour sceme within your room.

I like to have enough to cover all eventualities for 2-3 days. I have 4 big bath sheets, 8 bath towels, 22 hand towels, half are chocolate half cream, means i can make some nice set up looks, i like to keep cream for facials.
Majestic - Towels, Hairdressing, Salon Wear, Lingerie and Disposable Beauty Products

that is the link for majestic, great towels and very reasonably priced, just got some gorgeous chocolate velvet headbands £1 each hth xx

Choc is a great looking colour - but I have found that the towels I use most of (hand towels) are noticeably lighter and more faded than the others - They were a good quality - my longest lasting colour towels by far where the lilac ones - pastels can show the dirt - but they dont fade as fast and look fresher for longer. I just use the darker ones for manicures and when lash tinting etc. Also Matalan do do some great value towels for sure - Good luck x

Thanks for the replies; I knew I was right to go for chocolate!
I like the idea of having some complementary coloured ones for facials too.
:)
