Hi Geeks

Have been looking at spray tanning courses for some time and think its a good add on for my salon based business. I have been debating between a course in this and a few other courses such as lashes etc but think tannings the way to go for the minute.

My question is this: Has spray tanning been a success for those of you in the same position as me? Has it brought you new clients? and really has it been worth investing in?

Thankyou

Can anyone offer any advice? Im not talking how much money a such but has tanning added to you client base and attarcted new clients who may not have come in before?

Have you existing client used you for tanning aswell now?

Any help much appreciated.

I would like to know the answer to this :)

No one seems to want to share though ...... :(

Hi,

I can't really help with this as I don't have my own business, Im a Sales consultant and trainer for Sunless Solutions and all I can is that the tanning industry is really booming so it must be working for people.

Sorry I cannot really help.

Leela x

Thankyou for replying all the same Lil01 :)

Anyone else?

Has it been worth investing for you?

I'm a mobile beauty therapist and Spray Tanning is my bread and butter! Without it I would have given up a long time ago! It's quick, easy and you've got that instant wow factor!

If I'm not tanning - I'm Shellac-ing!

Spray tanning is just a second job for me, it's quick and easy! And great money x

I am home based and have just invested in spray tan. I did this because when I was in a salon up till Christmas the amount of walk in's we had for spray tans was unbelievable. The only thing was if we couldn't do them there and then they went somewhere else. And as we were on a road where there were ten salons it was grab them while you can.

Thankyou Geeks!

This is just was I wanting to know. I am a new salon based business so am building my clientbase from scrath, its going well but I am asked for various different treatments I dont currently offer and cant afford to get them all in. I had hoped tanning would be a winner for me. Looks like it should be.

I Shellac allllll the time but would love to add tanning to my list if its worth it!

:D

Keep it coming !

Hi

Currently I only do spray tanning - and Ive literally been going a week and have bookings (granted from friends) but every practice tan I did has rebooked as a paying customer Ive just had my flyers delivered today and Ill be hitting the streets soon!

Def give it ago! but like anything you have to put the hard work in!

Spray Tanning is great money spinner, quick, easy

I specialise in Nails, Tanning and Lashes, my clients may start with one but end up having all of it!

I invested in an extraction system last year, its the best thing I ever bought, no mess, no smell... go for it!

your welcome Zoe, hope you get on well with Crystal Mani/pedi:eek: its lovely quality treatment to add

Spray Tanning is reasonable to set up, hardest thing is choosing the tan your going to use! good luck with it, its great too as breaks up the day a bit and gets me off my chair!! i can do other things but do the three that I love, I think that's enough, for me anyway...

LA Tan seem to have some great offers on and tan reasonable too, i've never tried it but am considering it, may order some for a promotion ...if it ever stops raining!!

Its interesting to me to hear everyones success stories Peartree so yes it is helpful :)

Thankyou

Go for it ... I did.

I have a small room at my salon that is actually my laundry. I curtained off the offending machines, bought the Nouvatan set up kit and went for it. One of my staff had already done some years of tanning and trained me. My kit cost about £500 to set me up with tent, machine and three litres of spray and I bought sticky feet, mob caps and disposable thongs - along with surgical masks which I use and ask my clients to use too.
If you charge £15 per tan and use 50ml of solution per tan you will get 60 tans from your first three litres. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you make a profit on that first £500.

And it's a real blast! It gives you one helluva kick to make people feel nice. And they do :)

I couldn't be without spray tanning, I'm so busy with it!! I cover most aspects of beauty treatments - facials, massages, nails, waxing, make up, etc, but spray tans are one of maybe four treatments that I'm busy all year round with.

I say go for it!! Good luck :) xx
