I'm trying to set up my pricelist and it looks like I'm trying to offer too many manicures and pedicures to cover all bases.

At the minute I offer the basic File & Polish, a mini manicure/pedicure and then a luxury manicure/pedicure. I was also thinking about the CND Spa Manicures and Pedicures, should I add these too?

How many treatments is enough to offer? And should I use all the same brand of products throught the treatments?

On another note. Shellac & Minx. No one offers them where I live, is it worth me spending my savings on these treatments and getting them out there before other salons do or shall I wait means I can't get the Shellac lamp etc. Want to get my price lists designed and printed asap - need to be making money. :o

I know I have posted something similar before so sorry about this. Just trying to make my business the best in my area!

Please help, my brain is completely overloaded and I can't seem to make a decision anymore!

I would use all the same brand throughout if i were you as it shows you believe in the products and it means you dont have loads to carry round. I would also buy the minx and shellac as you have said noones offers it so thats great for you as you will get all the clients. If were only offering manis and pedis i would do as you have said file and polish, mini mani, spa mani and luxury as then they have more choice and can upgrade if they wish. hth x

Thank you that's what I thought. I haven't done l&p or gels yet so can only really offer silks but I'm having teething problems with them at the minute.

Am really considering the CND range, everyone rates it so highly, it must be good.

Hi Claire!

I offer a file & polish, mini mani/pedi and the CND SpaMani/Pedi. I love the CND Spa products - my fave is the sweet almond. I also do think using the same product line does give the look of consistency and quality. I would recommend the Spa-Tacular training course with CND xxx

You could Give your mani and pedi's a tear system , I have bronze , silver and gold ,
Then I have add on's minx, shellac, twinkle toes that kind of thing,
But as your looking to go mobile I would make sure you have some sort of minim treatment price / call out fee,
I mean in a salon if I get a walk in who just wants a polish and I have time fine that's profit as they came to me ,I had nothing else to do,
But as mobile you need to think you will be going to them you cant you afford to go across town to do a mini manicure for 5 pounds or what ever ?

The creative spa products for mani and pedi are fab,
There very easy to use and learn about ,
There are 2 ranges of each mani and pedi heres 2 words I use to discribe how I use them ,, citrus spa (revitalizing , summer) & almond (calming , winter) and for pedi earth (warming, winter ) & Marine (cooling , summer) , this is how I use them , and I'm not trying to complicate it but to explain how in the 4 spa lines there IS something for everyone and every need :)

If you forget the mini mani (keep it and use it as prep for shellac and minx only)
And then offer spa manicures and pedis , you can charge more you have to make it worth your while honey x

I would try to stick to the maxim of KISS ... keep it simple stupid (not that I am calling you stupid).

Too much information is very confusing to clients who generally prefer you to describe treatments and list to them the benefits.

Certainly offer a variety of treatments, but i would keep descriptions on a price list very simple and expand verbaly in person.

Thanks, I've decided to go for the CND Citrus/Marine Spa products, they sound lovely. Plus I'm only going to have file/polish, manicure and spa mani etc so three options.

Quick question, do you think I should use these CND Spa bits and pieces for all mani options or use Scentsations and leave Spa for just that?

Still undecided about Shellac/Minx although I am leaning towards them.

You wont regret it honey :)
I use the spa systems for all of my manicures and pedicures, I just leave bits out depending on what one they are having,

I do use a few sensations loations but not really for mani or pedi , mostly I use the black cherry with a few drops of solar oil (makes bakewell tart smell) as a quick complimentry hand massage for my shellac or enhancement clients,
They are both retail items so quite ofter it helps with that .... or they enjoy it and book in for a mani next time ,

Ohh Bakewell Tart smells lovely! Think I would keep that to myself, but it's a nice idea to use as a complimentary quick massage with another treatment.

I'm really hoping this all takes off, I've put so much heart in to it all I just hope it pays off once it's all set up. :o

It will take time , and effort but your making conscious desertion's (spelling lol) already and not running out and getting the cheep and cheerful ,but doing the home work on the products, if you keep that motivation it WILL pay off :)

Thanks hun, I really am trying and this is why I want to use really good products to keep clients coming back for more. :)

You like the sound of the bakewell tart ?
Wait till you try the citrus spa manicure ,the hand masque is like star burst ( opal fruit's ) and the scrub is like lemon sorbet :lick: ....

The other nice thing with the creative spa mani / pedi ranges is that a little goes a realllly long way!
To be honest I think it would be easier to say what's bad about it than to list all the good things ....
The only bad thing I can think of .... It tastes bad ... LOL

lol Ok, ok you've sold it to me! :D

I just worry that spending out all this money will be wasted if I don't get any clients. I guess I will at least have nice products for my own use lol

Think you sold it to your self right on your 2nd post lol
and no you won't have nice products for your self they are for your clients LOL
as it's summer now maybe start offering pedicure offers to get some in.

LOOK  ... stop worrying that you won't get clients and that you won't be successful!! Those negative thoughts should not even enter your head and onlky attract to you what you don't want to happen!! BELIEVE that you will be a success with lots of happy clients and you will be.

If you are doing a good job, are a personable gal and a comitted person with your clients and you use great products, and have good business sense and ethics, how can you possibly fail at what you do? You can't.

When I started doing nail enhancement in the 1980's barely a handful of women in the UK had ever heard of them. They had no idea they even wanted them!! lol THAT was a challenge believe me. It was during the worst depression the UK had ever seen ... money was tight ... AND I never thought for one second that I would fail, not once. Why??? Because I LOVED my nails and I knew I couldn't be the only woman in the UK that did .. there had to be many many more. That was the very start of the nail business in the UK ..... LOOK at what has happenned since!! Be positive and make your own good luck by being positive too. xx

You are right, Geeg. Negativity has gone out of the door, I WILL succeed!

Looks like I will be making an order with Sweet Squared in the not so distant future! :D
