Hi everyone

I did a client yesterday and it was a two week infill and really in my opinion she could of waited for three weeks, but anyway my question to you is how much would you charge for just an infill and some nail art? See my two week re balance are priced at 17.50 and I did the nail art for 2.50 but once I had left I questioned if I was right in still charging the 17.50 as I did a infill and didn't re-place the whites as they did not need it so should I have charged less as I didn't do a re-balance?

IMO your prices are far too low, I am assuming you are mobile, have you taken into account your time there, back and time spent on the job, so to speak? Your car expenses - fuel / insurance / wear and tear? Your skill? Product used?

Could she really have gone 3 weeks? What if nails started to fall apart after 18 or 19 days? She needs her nails to be PERFECT every day inbetween visits, not showing signs of NEEDING to be filed at any time.

I agree it still took you probably the same time to do and you have to ask yourself at the end of the day was the client happy?
client may not of been happy if the nails has started to fall apart if she had waited 3 weeks.

When I told my tutor that I was only charging ££££ for infills, she went mad!!
She told me from the very first day that you have a client I was to charge them the full price, as I was know a qualified nail technician and there was no-need for me to charge low prices!!

I charge the same for an infill or a rebalance - almost every appt I do a full rebalance, so I don't feel bad when I do the occasion infill and charge the same.......

I would agree though your prices are too low - I'm mobile and I charge £25 for a rebalance....... Look at your profit not just the money you take for the appt!

Thanks everyone for your comments .I used the same prices that the salon I worked in charged , the client was very happy with her nails and she loves the fact that people are noticing her nails because of the nail art and I think my prices are just about average for where I live and I am still building my client base. I think its so hard to get your price right you dont want to charge too much and not get clients but I didn't wont to do them to cheap as that can put people off

I don't think they realise on here just how behind we are in little devon
People don't pay as much for things like this down here do they!!!
I'd say your price is about right for this area

Hi jo your right we do seem behind lol

I love that NSS have not driven down your prices. When they first arrived here in the states, we started hearing of the prices in Californis being as low as 8.00(us) for an infill. Thats like four pounds! We thought that people were exaggerating until it happened here. So in the early 90's, we all dropped our prices because we thought we had to compete. Slowly, our prices have come back up as customers realize that you get what you pay for. Don't shortchange yourself, hun!Good luck!

Going off on a slight tangent here, but if £17.50 is not enough for infills, I need to draw your attention to a salon near me in Bridgend which charge £15, and £28 for a full set. How can they be making any money??
They always seem busy tho, they are in a back street so don't really appeal to me, they have recently opened and just seem to be eating up all the competition because of their prices. There is a lovely CND place a few doors down that charges £40 for a full set, but everyone seems to be going to the new place now. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I think it could either be people dont have as much money to spend on these luxuary or they wont there nails done for as little as possible as long as they are geting a good job done they will be happy . ( thats my opinon). :)
