Hi all hope u r all ok!!!

I dont know where to post this if it is in the wrong place sorry!

Im just wondering when you other pregnant mobile therapists stopped carrying your couches to do treatments? I am 25bweeks so its still not a problem for me but am thinking it may be in a couple of months any opinions would be fab!xx

I think it would depend on what your doc or midwife would suggest to be honest. I was told to stop any heavy lifting at 10 weeks due to a condition but that advice was for me. I think you need to ask your doc as I am sure they will want to know you are lifting couches! there comes a time when you have to start taking things easy and they will know when that time should be.

congrats by the way! we will be eagerily awaiting baby pics in 15 weeks time xxxx

im 25 weeks also and sent out an email to my clients a few weeks ago letting them know i wouldnt be carrying it about anymore. All aside from 1 were very supportive and i havent lost any custom from them as of yet :)
I think its about personal preference and listening to your body, my couch is ridiculously heavy (even when im not pregnant!) :) good luck with your decision :)

xx

Most doctors would advise you to do no heavy lifting from a pretty early stage.

ASK your doctor!!!

Congratulations but don't take risks ... obviously you don't want to but the professionals should advise you and I don't mean beauty professionals.

Thanks guys i will ask my midwife when i see her on thurs its hard as you dont want to loose clients do you and the clients i use my couch for live quite far away from me and dont think they would come to me!!

thanks for your thoughts!xx:green:

I would probably stop now, I haven't used my mobile couch for a long time but had to put it up the other day and it wasn't so much the carrying but actually setting it up that was the problem and it only weighs 9.5kg so its very lightweight but I was still huffing and puffing trying to get it up !

You don't want to loose anything else either and that is much more precious than clients. Baby or business???

You are unlikely to be putting your baby at risk more yourself and your back.Qute early everything starts to loosen in readiness for the birth and its a lot easier to put your back out or damage other joints.Of course later on you will be front heavy and very unbalanced.

Yes u r right! will speak to them when i see them tomorrow!

Out of interest what were you told?

ye am 27weeks too, congrats to you and me ha ha! I think you should definately take the good advice from your midwife, like i have and also listen to your own body as no one knows your body like you! xx

as gillian said - unlikely to be putting your baby at risk - however, only your midwife or specialist will know your full medical history and therefore it would only be sensible to take advice from them X

Man she must have had the baby by now as this was posted in January and she was 25 weeks along then!!!

Sorry, my fault, I revived this thread as I wanted to know what she was told rather than starting a new thread!

Hee hee! Not yet but I was thinking of trying to start a family next year!- I like to plan well in advance, there's nothing like being prepared! Being self employed and mobile has many benefits until you want to start a family or take a holiday! I want an excuse to stop lugging my stuff around as soon as possible, over 3 years mobile seems like enough but I am busy so it's hard to give it up and start again.

You ARE organised!!

Well the general consensus of opinion seems to be to ask an expert and there seem to be one or two that have answered in the thread. Hope you have the answer now.

Yes, stop working immediately and put my feet up  in my dreams!
