Hi,

I am newly qualified and takes me around 2 hours to get done a full set. I've been advised that I'm too slow and it should take 45min 1 hour. I was a bit surprised since I've been thought that getting done properly quality nails with the right prep is min 1.5-2 hours. How long does it take for you guys? And if I really need to speed up how could I?Cuz I don't want to do a half job.

Cheers Xx:)

There are lots of threads about this.

The recommended industry timing is 1.5 hours for a full set and 1 hr for a rebalance. 45 minutes is pushing it and to do it in that time you would have to cut corners, which is not a good idea.

I take an hour to do a full set and about 40-50 minutes to do a rebalance depending on the client and condition of the nails. But I didn't start to do nails yesterday!!

When you first start doing nails it should take you as long as it takes you to do everything correctly and produce nails that have great shape, no lifting etc. From then on, with practice and experience you will gain speed until you reach your own plateau. From that point it will usually take you between and hour and an hour 30mins to produce the same set of perfect nails!

Don't stress, just enjoy yourself! :) xxx

I am still in training, but did a full set yesterday in 2hr 20 mins i thought this was good as i was taking up to 3hrs!! Like others have said its more improtant to produce a beautiful set of nails rather than worrying about the time it takes, that will come with more practice! (at least i hope it will!) :)

What I would say is take as long as you need!

Thanks guys, I feel more confident now :) I do want to create quality nails and yet I need a certain time for that :)

Ask better:

" How good should I be?"

First: Technik & perfektion... than Time....

hey i started nails in march time and trying to start my own business mobile, and i take about 2 hours to do a full set, im honest with my client and do say that i am slower than more experienced techs, but the regular clients that i have gained are happy with the time it takes and they are just happy they have nice nails and appreciate that im a newbie and im not going to be as quick as other techs. Just be honest with your clients if they do mention time, im sure they will be happy if they have nice nails, i think quality matters more than time, we'll get quiicker. :)

Hello there, I've been doing full sets for 6 years now and I still book about 1 and a half hours time. There is no point rushing and especially with a new client its nice for you to spend the extra time so they feel like they are getting a super treatment and not being rushed in and out. I can do full sets in a hour but that is usually during a fully booked hectic day where everything is rushed and stressful - which isn't nice for me or my customers!

I say 1.5 - 2 hours if you have just started is fine, you get quicker as you go along - i.e you put the product on neater and thinner therefore less filing etc. Most of the time it is that the product is too thick and takes 50 million years to file that is the time waster.

I've been doing L & P for nearly 3 years now and can take anywhere from 1hr15 to 2hrs depending on what state the clients nails re in to start with, if there tips or sculput, or if Im talking with my hands :Grope: lol
I would'nt worry as long as you are happy with the end results.
Who has advised you you are taking too long btw? xx

Hiya,

Thanks for your advices all of you. I'm on the same opinion just as you. Only the lady i'm renting the space from in the salon said to me, she's not a technician. That's just scared me at the beginning. But I cansee now clients rather spen more time on getting their nails done then have unpretty bad quality nails.

Good luck to everyone

It varies a lot for me aswell. It depends a lot on how challenging a customers nails are. I take my time for my work and charge for the time that i use. for a new set it can varie from 1 hour to 2 hours depending on style *natural, french, design etc*
I wouldn´t worry too much about it.

If you have clients that are pushed for TIME then that is the time and those are the clients to use PopIts for your application.

That is what PopIts are made for .. the perfect quick full set application when you need it.

Hiya,

It depends on what system you use. I can do a full set in just over and hour but if i use popits, i can do a full set in 20 minutes. Take your time is what i say. A nice chat with the customer and a cuppa will bring her back to you every time. The more you do, the quicker you will be. Each clients nails will be different but in time you will learn how each one like them and just do it automatically and before you know it - it will take about an hour. :) Enjoy
