I was reading Cathie's journal entry today and suddenly felt deja vu.

I had a phone call from an elderly snotty sounding woman a couple of weeks ago. She asked me if I do acrylic nails to which I replied that I did gel. Then she said that she had had her nails done for ages at one of those 'bad places' (yup, we know the type) and that she had had them removed because she wanted to try and go the natural route. But she added that her nails were now filed soooo thin that she just couldn't grow them as they just kept breaking (yup, we know the type) and she wanted something over them to help them grow.

So I told her that I would need to assess them first as somtimes any product laid over very thin nails could result in lifting of the ............. at which point she interrupted and said that her nails were not lifting and that she just wanted some advice and 'thank you' and she'll call me back.

There is no hope for some but could we have a serial nail tech stalker on the loose???????:wink2:

Oh I do hope she rings me:)

Well this lady said she'd never had nails before but she asked about damaging the nails and when I mentined picking she replied that picking would take layers of the nail plate with it.....when I went on to mention tips and sculpts she actually said which are better, tips or sculpts...well I think that someone who knows absolutely nothing about nails, wouldn't have repeated the correct terminology.

I didn't get a chance to say anything more really because she put the phone down on me...oh and it was a private number too!

Call me paranoid, but I do believe that other techs phone up another known tech to suss them out. Why  ? Who knows. Perhaps they lack confidence in their own abilities or just want to suss out their local competition.

I believe this has happened to me before. I have had phone calls which afterwards leave me thinking, 'that was anoth tech sussing me out'. Do I care?......... nope! Waste of time if you ask me.
