Thought it might be helpful to do what the hair forum has done and hopefully save everyone some time. Here are some questions experienced techs are going to ask you if you are looking for help concerning your overlays, extensions or gel polish:
1. Are you training or have you qualified - details of training provider
2. What products are you using?
3. Are you using the lamp that goes with your system? Also are your products UV or LED cured?
4. How long are you curing for?
5. What is your prep procedure? Are you using cuticle remover? Are you deactivating it? Are you using a cuticle remover tool or curette? Are you scrubbing the nail plate with a good nail cleanser such as Scrub Fresh? Are you using primer or bonder, if called for with your system?
6. Are you capping the nail edge if your product calls for it? If you are, are you leaving the edge too thick, which can cause chipping?
7. Are you making sure not to touch the cuticle area and sidewalls with product?
8. Walk us through your entire procedure, start to finish.
9. What is the condition of the nails before treatment? Are they healthy, peeling, previous damage from being filed, heavily ridged, spoon shaped etc.
10. Are you giving your clients aftercare info?
Experienced techs, feel free to add any other questions that will make our lives easier.
Edited to add Blossom and Noreen's excellent suggestions.
