hi all

i have now done my tanning training, mastered the pop up tent! (thanks to the links on you tube!) and now wondering if anyone can give some good advice about attracting clients and is it normal in the first couple of weeks to be quiet, am i being unrealistic to expect loads of clients in the begining?

i have ordered my business cards but will take upto 14 days! i am in the process of trying to sort out some posters.

hope all u out there with ur experiences can help me with some advice to get me up and going!

thanks

You could use this initial quiet time to get yourself a website built, and start listing your spray tan service on all the free on-line advertising sites too. After word-of-mouth, the internet is my biggest bringer-in of new clients. This can take effort and lots of your time, but is well worth it.

Hi are you setting up in a salon, or thinking of going mobile, and do you have all your equipment, if you dont have all you equipment take a look at my site SUGAR-ME-BROWN - Home or email me at [email protected] i sell all you might needif you don't already have it. i also have some paperwork for example disclaimer forms health questionaires and before during and after care info that you can photocopy. if you are looking for a cheap web site and a domain name vistaprint do a great deal.
i hope this is of some help.
good luck from SUGAR-ME-BROWN - Home

Did you not get a marketing Guide with your training? This will cover many ways of attracting clientele. Expect 2-5 clients per week whilst your starting out. With dedication and a lot of hard work this can easily increase to 20-30.

Use all the free mediums you can such as Bebo, Facebook and friends and family.

Think of intriging ways of getting noticed, and use every available space of your life to advertise in, such as your clothes, your car, your home etc.

Don't expect people to look for you - you have to look for them.

Buy a marketing guide specific to your industry as they are priceless with helping to build up a successful buisness.

thanks for your reply's. i have ordered my business cards and im trying to sort out a poster/flyer to put in some shop windows and my sister works at a leisure centre that i might be able to advertise in! i have someone in mind that can do a web site its just knowing wot to do first and pay for! dont want to spend loads on advertising and not have any paying clients but then i know if i dont advertise i wont get any clients!

to reply to kate i have not received my tantrick kit or certificate as yet! i had a trainer come to my house and said that all would be in the post! i had my training on tuesday just gone.

do you have to be a registered business to advertise on yell.com etc... does anyone no? i do only plan to do a mobile service if it takes off then i no i would have to have some form of accounts/taxes etc...

No you dont need to be registered to get on Yell.com.

Make sure you register your number with TPS to prevent unsolicited calls.

Get a free site with Microsoft office live. Tantrick should help you with this.

You need to legally declare your self self employed at the Tax office within 3 months of starting out.

Get leaflets printed. I get 5000 one sided full colour high gloss A5 leaflets for £30 from www.hotsaucesolutions.co.uk give them out everywhere.

List your business on Google Maps.

Theres too much to put here lol!
