i am brand new to waxing and i have a quuestion for u all to answer

when you are doing a bikini wax and they want more taken off (a thinner strip left) where do you get them to hold and how do you position them. how are you spposed to make the skin taught because it doesn't seem to work very well when you are trying to stretch the skin and you have to push on their 'squishy' bits, it seems very awkward. and where do you get them to hold when you are waxing the hair that is on the outer edge of the lips.( in the crease of their leg, lower down) it doesn't seem right to have ur hands on that area, if so how do you do it? i have been practising my bikinis but i never seem to be able to do it properly and it takes me FOREVER.

also i am confused by this, when you are applying the wax during a bikini wax do you apply it in the direction the hair is growing (vertically) and rip against the hair (vertically) or do you apply it horizontally and rip vertically? it seems very hard to form a straight line when you are applying the wax vertically, it seems to tear out patches so you can never get it straight.

please read this and try to answer my qeustions if you can i really need help thanks. i just need help with bikini waxing.

This is where you need extra training.See if you can find a course that does this kind of waxing it is specialised and will teach you all you need to know.
Ther is a bit more to it than what you could pick up on here.
Im not even sure if all insurances cover intimate waxing if you haven't had the extra training... could be wrong here i expect someone will know.

Sounds to me that they want a brazilian rather than a bikini and as said you're not trained to do it. If people ask me to wax further I just say we dont do intimate waxing in our salon - a bikini is a bikini and that's that!

As Sassy says this is more than just a bikini but when doing a closer bikini i generally go downwards with the wax and pull up i dont take the wax horizontally except across the top. This is why hot wax is so good and why it tends to be used more in intimate waxing. After it cools i used to trim down the edge with a little pair of scissors before pulling off to get a really neat line.

I agree with the other repsonses, check with your insurance if you haven't done specialist training. I use very small disposable pants to help stretch the skin. I wax vertically in very small strips and never have any problem getting all the hair this way and the disposable pants form a guide for getting the line straight. I always get the client to stretch the skin rather than me so we both don't feel akward and i am not touching their 'squishy' bits.

It sounds like it might be a hollywood you are doing though. Are you actually leaving any hair???

This is advanced waxing for which you need an advanced waxing course or you are not insured,
a bikini line is only the spider legs as i call them that stick out of the sides of the knickers,
to do the waxing that you are asking about is a whole different ball game as the anatomy is different,
you need to do an advanced waxing course hun then you will know the answers and feel more confident,
if you bruise or rip a piece of flesh off which is easily done in that area your insurance will not cover you and you will be up s**t street with no paddle hun
look into an advanced waxing course if you have plenty clients asking for this
