i trained with creative not long ago and so am not experienced yet! ive had a txt from a friend asking if i could repair her nail as its cracked halfway down and she cant get hold of her tech (i think she's stopped for xmas) so just wonderin how to repair it? soak it off? plz help! x

I would soak it of and start from new.

You'll probably see the crack if you try to repair it and also its a weak area and any stress will just cause it to crack again, also pointless trying to build on a bad foundation iykwim, hope that helps.

I agree... also there will be no doubt water and god knows what else down that tiny crack so I would def soak it off and start again..

I have done a few repairs like this for walk ins..... most of them end up being regular clients because your fresh nail always looks better than the few week old ones....lol..

Take care and practise practise.... you will get expereinced with time..

Soak it off definatly,a crack can seep n water and cause a greenie.

I'd sanitise it, let it dry, open it up just a fraction, put some adhesive in the crack, let it dry.

While supporting the finger with yours, file almost down to the nail through the crack then apply fresh acrylic.

I have done this too, quite successfully.

I guess it's hard to say though until you actually see what damage you've got to deal with.
If it's bad, then soak & redo, if it's minor, then I'd do as Carl has said.
