Hi All,

Im interested how the rest of you LOVELY NAIL GEEKS, hold your file!!
I have GIGI ' NAILCLASS BOOK' and have read the chapter on FILES, and was wondering if anybody uses this method and how they get on with it??

Do you nail geeks use the file the way you were taught still, or have you found an easier way that suits you?

At the moment I lay the file across four finger's with thumb on top, but do find it takes quite sometime to 'blend' as all the pressure is under the file and not on top!
I was wondering if any of you who have ' NAILCLASS ' can advice me if Ive read it right i.e.
index finger on top of file, with the remaining four finger's underneath???

Many thanks to those who reply!!
Angie xx

I don't hold it the way I was taught because I wear stilettos(or at least very long nails) and it can't file the client nail...

in my opinion what matters the most is the inclination of the file, more than the way of holding it. if you don't hold it right, it'll hurt and you'll find something better... and if you don't file the right way, your nails will look like nothing.

hi i used to file the way you do but at my conversion the educator suggested the latter, i think it gives a much more even pressure, she said to hold the file at one end like a cigerette slide your thumb under the file and your middle, ring and pinkie under and slide your thumb to the other end of the file, i hope this makes sense ????

Hi
I'm doing the ES gel course and just couldnt get the blending right, bought
Gigi's book, tried her method of file use and 'hey presto' 10 blended tips.
And yes thats the way I read it as well, tho I admit I had my partner there, just to make sure I was reading it right.

The pressure is just where you need it to be. xx

hi guys,

sorry to interrupt, but where can i get gigis book from?
love charl xx

hi its up to u how u hold ure file but myne is resting on my pointing finger and thumb on top.. but i file away my skin and ive got 2 callous's on my left hand thumb and 1st finger and on my right my middle finger points from where i buff.. i were the file tape every day i have to have it cause its too sore.. but just hold ure file the way u feel comfy... x

^I think you should hold it otherwise... it's a matter of training in the end but if it's sore you should stop, your hands are your working tools...

just my 2 cents..
