These are the guidelines I was given only the week before last by the council who came out to me(Habia guidelines)
towels should be washed at over 60,changed after every client. All equipment should be cleaned and then placed in Barbicide/or similar for recommended time after every client.Recommendation is to soak then remove not leave standing in barbicide.Barbicide needs to be changed daily.Pedi foot spas must be cleaned thoroughly and then filled with solution for however long the manufacturer states.

Couch roll changed for every client. No double dipping with spatulas.Hth a bit

what happens if a salon is not doing this?

Habia is great for all of this sort of information.

Easydry do a great range of disposable products if you don't want to wash your towels etc.

Its not about me its a salon I work at

Can you say what's happening without giving away too much information? You sound like you're really worried about something ...

the towels dont get washed they get dried and reused, some are covered in hair, though I have left there now

Unfortunately a lot of places do that. I think that clients can tell the difference and it hurts your reputation and your business. I don't know if there is anyone you could report them to tho ...
