Is it just me or am I the ONLY one who has great difficulty finding a nail salon who does a good job??? I have gone to literally dozens upon dozens with no luck. I have only managed to get a good job doe twice so far at a place out of town, that's it.

I just payed $45 for a full set of L&P. The guy took forever to finish them and kept telling me it would be a "masterpiece" when completed. He really seemed to be trying! Here are the pictures of the results. My friend says they look fine and I am being picky. I HIGHLY disagree:

***removed photographs***

The acrylic is supposed to be all nice and smooth around the nails. Not like this! I have gaps, grumbling and lumpy acrylic around my nails. I've never gotten a set this ugly before

Looking at those pics, am I being too picky? I am VERY unhappy with them.

Sorry but yes they are VERY bad, i would go straight back, complain and get a refund.

they are terrible I am just starting out and my first set was better than them. I would defo complain, I could understand it if it was someone practising but not working in a salon and charging for them. They look like they will pop off easily too. gl with finding somewhere that does a great job.

Thanks for confirming I am not being too picky. My friend told me they look "good" even after I showed her how the edges are all grumbling and with gaps! I have never gotten such a bad job done before. Going to nail salons is a frustrating experience for me and money down the drain :(

The acrylic just crackles off easily like dry clay around the edges. I've gotten this done enough time to know it's not supposed to do that!

They look as if they are starting to lift at the side walls and in a couple of pics they look too thick for my personal taste. If you are unhappy then go back to the salon and let them know.

you're right, the nails are crap. product hasn't been applied/finished at the side walls- looks like the job of someone who is truly at the learning stage and doesn't have the confidence to apply/finish all the way to the side walls.

you should definately go back and get a refund. my experience of bad nail techs tells me never to let someone who has done a bad job redo them, as if they couldn't see their mistake, they truly don't know how to correct it. you'll only be disappointed twice over, have wasted your time twice over and still be out of pocket

(BTW i am referring to a job that looks terrible when you walk out of the salon- NOT a mistake that comes to light days later due to incompatible products or excessively oily nail beds or cleint misuse)

i have to say, even prior to doing my NVQ2 in L&P and fabric, which i have only just comepleted, i could always spot the faults in my own/someone else's enhancements. I wouldn't necessarily know how to correct the fault, but i sure knew exactly when and where the enhancements weren't right.

sorry you're diasppointed with them. i know what that feels like- i stopped having mine done regularly over 4 yrs ago for this precise reason.

I just had them done a couple of day ago... but they looked like this ever since I walked out of the salon. I really should have said something before leaving. He spent almost 2 hours on my nails and thought the did a great job... he called it his "masterpiece" and "work of art". I think some people just don't have the "eye" or talent for doing french nails. I mean how could anyone think my nails look good!

I LOVE... really love the look of french nails but am going to stop getting them done. I can't afford to spend all this money on my nails only to have a bad job done all the time. It's VERY frustrating :(

Good lord, they are shocking!
I'm not a nail pro, but even as a consumer I can tell they're dreadful!
Go back, complain courteously, get a refund, go elsewhere.

I am sooooo upset!!!! I just went back to that salon and showed them my nails and asked them if they could please issue me a refund because I am very unhappy with the job he did and that I have had acylics done hundreds fo times before but never got such a bad job done. I also told them when I made the appointment I asked if **** could do my nails because he did a good job. But that day they gave me a different tech other than the one I reserved and I ended up with a terrible job.

The owner then proceeds to tell me "No, no, no... your nails are supposed to look Like that. They are supposed to have gaps on the sides because they are your natural nails". She then refuses to issue me refund and says she will fix them. So she then takes out a regular nail file and starts filing the sides of my nails to make then a LOT more narrow and get rid of the gaps and areas where the tech screwed up! I'm like hold your horses... what on earth are you doing. I then immediately told her to stop and demanded a refunded.

They REFUSED so I left the salon.

My nails have gaps and if you feel them on the sides they are all lumpy! This salon owner was truly lousy with extremly poor custoemr service. I am very upset!

I cannot believe I left the salon the day I had them done and payed for them. I barely glanced at my nails at the salon... then when I got home and got a good look at them I was like WTF.

I agree, those nails are terrible! There is no Apex, and they are not nice and shiny like a beautiful enhancement should be. They look dull and very NSS to me.
Would the salon owner maybe let you have them soaked off and redone by Sean? Or at least soaked off! Those things are only going to get uglier as time goes by.
Sorry for saying that about your nails, but its not about your nails, its about the job this guy did, hope you understand that

Hi, Yes these are very bad quality, the side walls are lifting, there is no support on the arch, and no shine, you said a guy did them? Was this set of enhancements done at a NNS??

If so, they state that they take no responsilbility for lifting, breakages etc.

It is very sad to pay for a service, and walk out with Nails like this. You are not picky, you are showing that you will not put up with crap. You pay for a service and we should get it.

Good Luck, let us know how it goes. :)

i would not have left the salon having paid for them, i would have told them i was unhappy with the nails and checked them over properly. I understand that after 2 hrs you may have just wanted to get out of there but still. It says your in florida so i dont know how refunds work but if i had a client clearly unhappy with nails that they came back to me i would give them a refund purely out of embarrasment i had done such a poor job as well as offering to fix them.

The tech there who did a good Job... **** is his name was busy with another client. But the owner there was very rude and unwilling to provide any refund. She repeatedly said "Your nails are supposed to look like that because they are your natural nails". Whatever that means! I tried to explain to her I understand I do not have tip extensions and have had this done hundreds of times before but this was terrible job.

Sorry for sounding ignorant but what does NSS stand for?

This was a good lesson learned... before paying always take a decent look at your nails. I did not do this until I got home! :(

NSS doesn't mean an MMA salon does it?

Thanks.

I think the answer you wanted has been achieved so i am closing this thread now as its touching on breaking the site rules....

This is not the place to bitch and moan about proper nouns (i.e. People or companies). That doesn't mean that you can't debate, question or raise a valid point. It means that I don't want to see threads about how x sucks. See this article on constructively trolling to complain in a constructive way.
