could anyone help please?!
ive just started in a hair salon doing acrylic nails where the previous tech did gels. she has left without telling clients so i am getting loads of people coming with gel nails, mostly overlays and wanting infills etc. i have taken off a couple of clients gels and replaced with acrylic overlays but am finding it all bit stressful as i have no knowledge of gels..

is it ok to keep infilling original gels with acrylic?

do you do acrylic overlays the same as if they had tips?

why do most her clients seem to have overlays, is this whats usual with gels?

how do you tackle clients who have been told that gels are better than acrylics????!!

the set i had to buff off and replace took me AGES! is this normal?
they arent soak off gels either.

anyway sorry its a bit confused but thats what i am at the moment!

thanks for any advice

You can infill them until the gel has grown, out as you have said its a buff off gel so that will be fine.

I do mainly overlays too...i wouldn't use tips on someone who was happy with there length, there would be no point.

Overlays are very lucrative....quicker...cheeper...its only the rebalancing of them thats the same.

I think if i was in your shoes i would try and offer both.

I agree with Angie.

I'd get familliar with Gel as an alternative for those clients who love it, just as soon as I could.

Always good to learn and master something new. It keeps your life interesting and makes you more professional.
