Hi Guys I have just booked a lady for a pedicure on monday night, Brilliant yes but she asked if I could do acrylics on them. Now I haven't done toes I have read about gels on toes but can I do acrylics?? is there any differences i should know regarding application than how you do nails?? I am thinking she is going to want pink and whites rather than NNO which is scaring me as I am used to white tips cant do them on toes and haven't perfected that. I'm really nervous especially as a friend was there at the time (doing the friend think biggin me up saying yea she's really good she'll do it) . I'm petrified now HELP ADVICE PLEASE.xx

Ok, stop panicking!!!!!!

Nails are nails, you can do acrylic or gel or polish on toes.

Just remember, prep & prep & double prep any new toe enhancement client as they have lots of dead skin to remove from the nail plate.

Just remember too, they can;t get down too close to their toes, so if you do do Pink & whites, they will look good even if your smiles are a little wobbly - from 5ft above or so!
Seriously, when applying your product, keep it thin, there's no need to worry about stress areas etc, as toes are not used like fingernails.

Apply your white acrylic across the nail zone 1 area, then go back in with a wiped brush, and sweep a neat line in across the smile - it's lots easier than doing fingers - I think. Then apply your pinks as you would a fingernail, but keep it thin.

Advise your client to ensure she does not allow her toe nails to grow too ,long before coming back for a rebalance or for your to give her a mini pedi and reshape etc. Long toe nails scraping on the inside of shoes can cause black toes & sometimes the nail can come off - I'm talking extreme here, but be aware of it.
She'll still need to use her oil on her toes, as well as her fingers.

See this is my favourite treatment i have two to do this weekend !
as Bev said they are nails at the end of the day ! for myself i find it easier to do P&W on toes have no idea why maybe i just enjoy them more!

If you are doing a pedi - is it going tobe a wet pedi or a dry pedi?
I ask,as I don't do acrylic overlays as part of a wet pedi,as the nails have to be soaked and I used a mixture of cuticle eraser & solar oil to soften the dead skin cells and the ptergyium (sp?), as part of my CND Spa Pedi routine. I'd not do a wet pedi if applying acrylic after - as in I would not do a wet mani & then apply acrylic enhancements. I'd prefer to work from a dry nail, for better adhesion of my acrylics - I use CND Ret+
I offer acrylic 'Hollywood Toes' as a seperate service and do a normal prep, using CND Cuticle Remover (Cuticle Away I think theycall it now) (well, double prep) on the toes in the same way as I would if Iwas doing finger nails NNO. I have a specail offer on atm of £25 for acrylic Hollywood Toes NNO. Glitter French or full glitters are more.

thanks again bev I would so have gone in with a bowl. So really I should do it as a service on its own rather than and combined thing and just do the toes as apossed to the whole foot filing ect
