IBD how many layers do you do?

Hi all,

Hope you can help (i know you will) I have been using IBD for about year and half now i like it but I always think it looks thick at the end is it me? I do one layer of builder clear gel and one layer of just clear gel? is this what you guys do?

Another question while we're on the subject I did my mums nails and they were lovely and then a couple broke so I had to take them off I soaked them in Acetone is this right coz they took ages to take off and now my mums nails are in a terrible state and are really sore

Any help for both these question I would really appreciate

Hi Do you mean you are sculpting or using tips? I have used ibd and I do the following: prep as usual
Cover entire nail from near cuticle to free edge with one very thin layer of clear gel. If using forms I go slightly onto form with the gel. I then sculpt free edge
Next I build the apex with builder gel. I start between zone 2 & 3 and blend to free edge. Then I do one thin coat from cuticle to free edge with clear gel. I then file to shape etc and re do free edge and put in smile line
After this all I need is top coat. Are you perhaps doing your layers too thick? Or perhaps using builder gel for each layer.

Hiya,

Heres what i do...
Prep
I dont use the bonder
clear or pink or whatever colour
then build appex with builder gel
another layer of clear or pink etc
then a gloss, i use intense seal

Also IBD are not a soak off, (unless you have the new soak off of course) but if it's the regular gel you need to buff off using a high grit such as 180 first then moving to a higher finer grit as you get near the natural nail plate, also i would suggest leaving a very very fine layre so you dont actually file the natural nail.

application and removal method do vary between products, what did they teach you when you did the ibd training ?
