bear with me people!!!!!!!!! so....what dictates wether you can paint the next layer on a cured gel or wether you should cleanse and buff before the next layer ? please. thank you. :green:

I'm quite surprised that this wasn't covered in your training.
How long have you been trained for joanerella? I looked on your profile but it doesn't say.

i did the ibd soak off course but i
wondered why a technician i heard off cleanses and buffs most layers on her french and hers are perfect! (i think she uses edge)
we were only told if it is to correct an uneven layer. thanks for reply! x

Thanks for doing your profile

The procedure will depend on whether the other tech is using soak off or buff off gel, I only know of the Edge doing a buff off one?!

With buff off gels (hard gels) you can remove the inhibition layer in between application providing the surface is filed/finished with a 180 grit abrasive, apart from the initial layer of gel (being worked into the natural nail and using the recommended primer/bonder for the brand) the only way gel adheres is by being applied to either existing product buffed with a 180 grit or the inhibition layer (sometimes called sticky layer).

I use Brisa and you can buff in between layers if needs be, but to be honest I don't do that until I'm ready to 'finish file', then I'll remove the inhibition layer, buff to finish then apply my Finishing Gloss.

What's the recommendation for IBD soak off gels?
It's always best to go with what's recommended for your particular system.

I'll change the title of the thread so that IBD techs see it :wink2:

You wipe off the dispursion/sticky just before you put the last layer of clear gel then obviously you wipe off the dispursion/sticky before you apply cuticle oil.
