Hi guys, me again :D

I was just wondering if you did what I asked in my title. I am employed but a bit wary of telling my employers that I'm going to be doing this although it has nothing whatsoever to do with the role I play now.

I'm an honest person and don't like the thought of being seen as devious and going behind their back, but what else can I do?

If I tell them, there's the risk of being treated differently and perhaps being 'helped' out of the door, on the other hand once I've done my training and it's time to leave, they'll think I hadn't been upfront with them.

Rock and hard place springs to mind.

Thanks as always

The people at HM Customs & Excise told me on my training day you do not have to tell your employer what you are doing business wise.

Thanks for that Mrs R :)

I thought that would be the case but I think it's just me feeling funny about not saying anything.

I don't think many of the people who work where I do know how much goes into training (and then ongoing training) but there are a lot of girls there who I possibly could convert into clients (including my employer). I don't want to play down how much I am training and learning but on the other hand I don't want them to think I'd not needed to put any effort in or they'd expect a cheaper service. Also I don't want them to know because as I said, I may not be made as welcome anymore if they think I'm going to do a flit, but then I don't want to alienate them by handing in my notice either. (takes a deep breath!)

I suppose I could introduce my nails early on while I'm still there as I work p/t, I could introduce some introductory offers then no-one should be surprised when I become a fantastic nail tech who doesn't have enough hours in the day to fit everyone in and has to leave :D!

Just thinking out loud I suppose. Thanks for listening :)
