Hi

I desperately need help!! I trained with Creative last year with Acrylic nails, I've been doing nails in the salon since before xmas, however, I seem to having a real issue with nails lifting and popping off. It's at a point now where I daren't do anymore nails as I can't afford to bring a bad name to the salon as I'm the only person who does them in the area. Please help any advice would be appreciated. Feeling pretty useless at the mo!!

Thanks so much in advance

maybe a 1 to 1 class for some troubleshooting would help ? x

Hi, what are your PREP steps? Don't despair...we're here to help! :)

1. File nail
2. Cuticle work
3. Apply tip
4. Blend Tip
5. Lightly buff top of nail
6. Scrub fresh
7. Nail primer
8. Scrub fresh again
9. Apply Acrylic

I do wonder whether my beads are too wet?

Thanks for your prompt responses :)

Not sure if I am correct in saying this but once you have put your primer on you don't need to scrub fresh again. The primer helps the product adhere to the nail???
The play station courses CND run are fab cos you can go over any probs you are having.
I am a bit low in confidnce at the mo, it seems to go up and down at certain intervals eeek:eek:

When you do your cuticle work, are you using a CND wet cuticle remover? I read here recently that scrub fresh alone is not sufficient to remove the residue of this from the nail plate and the clients hands should be scrubbed well with soap and water afterwards otherwise it can cause lifting problems.

Hope you get it sorted hun, chin up xxxx

Thank you so much for your replies.

Not sure about the scrub fresh either, but it's worth a try x

And, yes I do use CND cuticle remover, maybe I'm not wiping the nail enough, I'll try that too x

Thanks for your advice

:)

Did you train with an authorised CND educator? Your procedure seems to be a little different from their methods. I agree that another course with CND or go back to your educator for some trouble shooting would be a good plan

Hi Mum,

Yes I trained in Leeds, will look into another course, although money is a bit of issue at moment.

Thanks for your advice x

Hi, after priming you don't need scrubfresh.

Which liquid are you using? I use Retention + and never use primer and I have virtually no lifting. If you are using Cuticle Away, it needs to be removed with soap and water. Then do the rest of your prep. I'm sure you'll have it down in no time.

Keep us posted!

Hi, I was having the same problem and it was basically because I was not removing the cuticle away with citrusoak and water - as mentioned in previous post (I think citrusoak has been discontinued now but I believe CND have another scentsations soap which can be used). Since I have started doing this Ive got virtually no lifting and certainly no nails coming completely off.

hi the main problem is prep you need to make sure you are doing this properly also when you are finishing off your set make sure the acrylic and nail are smooth and there is no line from one to the other and use a gel top coat hope this helps xxx

Hi.

I was also having a similar problem to you, i tried with Ezflow, and with a "play date" with some other techs I found that I was not buffing the nail enough to remove the shine properly. This could be a part of the problem?

I also found that I was applying the product to thinly around the cuticle edge and when shaping the nail it was causing lifting.

Hope you solve the problem.

if you can't afford one on one training maybe you could just book yourself in for a backfil or full set at a reputable salon that uses the same product as yourself and take note of what they are doing. I have done this also, and found that it helped a lot!!!

You should remove the shine from the entire nail before you apply your tip. All your prep is done before you apply your tip.

I think you're confusing with primer with "Nail Fresh". I've seen people recommend this between layers of scrubfresh. But primer, if used has to be the last step.

Hope this helps!

I was tought not to Scrub Fresh a Tip because it has acetone in it. Only Scrub Fresh the natural nail.

Thank you all so much for your responses. It seems after seeing the last client again that my problem seems to be in the tips I'm applying as the acrylic is still on the nail and the tips are snapping off..... Do you think I'm applying the acrylic too thinly over the tips?? I was told that the thinner the acrylic on the nail the letter it was, am I totally wrong?? Or perhaps it has something to do with my beads??

Sorry to be a pain, need your help!!!

Thanks
Ang

Just a thought, but are you creating a proper apex on your nails? There is a big difference between creatiing a thin nail and a flat one!!

hi when u listed your prep u said u do the cuticle work and then apply tip. do you dehydrate the nail first. i had lifting problems but i was putting the tip on a shiny nail plate, it wont work. good luck.
