Hi, I'm new to this site and just wanted to have a good old moan!

I passed with Creative a few years ago, but was busy with my little girl and then fell pregnant again.......so haven't really done many sets of nails. Just getting back into it now, I'm so frustrated. I love doing nails but I feel really crap! Took me 2 hrs to do infills today and I managed to file my own fingers, file the clients finger til it bled! I'm so deflated cause I know I can do it! Also my brushes keep clogging up, can't afford to keep buying new! Sorry if I've gone on a bit, but some serious advice needed please...my fingers are sooooo sore!

Why not book in for one to one wth sweet squared? It might be just what you need to get you back on track? You've been too busy with your life (kids!) to keep up your skills, but maybe need a wee push to get you going again. Don't be too disheartened  xx

aww you're in my boat!! I've just made a blog with the 'deflated' title as I feel like I'm getting nowhere fast with my progress. Its all down to practise but also getting the one to one with a Creative educator will work wonders. I hope you manage to get sorted - don't go giving up

Totally agree with Marion, doing some one to one will give you loads more confidence and update your skills.

Have you thought of trying tech tape for your own fingers? You know the stretchy tape that you can wrap around so it saves your skin and nails?

hth

I have felt like this so many times and i agree some 1to1 training will have you back on track in no time. It boosts your confidence to feel like you know what you are doing and its amazing how many bad habits we get into and training just reminds you the correct way. x

It's difficult getting back into anything after children, never mind something you haven't practiced for some time. I'd say get some additional training, you have Katrina Kneebone (CND Ambassador), I'm sure she's on Mutley Plain somewhere.
A skill building class or some 121 is sure to help you.......never stop learning xxx

You shouldnt need to throw your brushes away hun if your clogging them up.I often do it , theres so much to remember when doing nails as well as keeping up a conversation with the client , you tend to forget all about your brush!!

Leave it to soak in some neat monomer over night, that should clear it.:)

Good tip. Don't feel bad babes we all have been there too and you will get through it. I think the 121 is the best option too. x

Thanks for all your advice! This web site is fantastic, so glad I stumbled across it! Gonna try and book in for a 121 today, didn't know you could do that! xxxxxxxxxxxx:lol:

Dont give up get some help, have a chat with CND and they will help you. Iv always thrown my files away when clogged up didint know you could clean them!

I can only echo everyone else, hang in there. I started my training late 2005 and between 5 kids, moving back to the UK and now living in a tiny village I have done my own nails and rarely anyone elses. I did The Event last year and it sent my confidence soaring, I can only imagine a 1 to 1 with Sweet Squared will do the same for you as having met their educators now they really know how to make you feel worth while whilst getting you on the right track.

I'd give them a call, they will put you in touch with who you need I'm sure

Ditto to what everone else has said....it is so easy to worry about confidence but look at you already....doing infills etc...

who cares it took 2 hrs, the fact of the matter is YOU DID IT and completed it

A 1 to 1 session would be just your thing and like the others have said will send your confidence sky high!!!!!!

All the best with itx

I phoned CND yesterday to inquire about a 1 2 1 couldn't believe it will cost me £99! I don't want you all to think I'm tight.....but with the other things I had to fork out for I thought it was pretty steep! I don't mind paying £50!

Anyway, on I good note, I did a set yesterday, took me 1hr and 3/4 and I was quite pleased with them.....but still want to do better!

Thanks again for all your help and advice! LOVE THIS SITE!

Can I just ask -I'm in the same position, I've passed my exams Dec 07 and although i keep on practising I don't seem to get any better and it takes soooo long!!!! I'm dreading having a client wanting enhancement (although I'm happy to do soak off -Le Chat).
And I find £100 a bit too much, I'm wodnering, if 2 of us would team up for a skill builing session, would that make it cheaper?!

Jules

I would ring sweet squared and ask, then you could go together!!

Can I just ask what people mean when they quote times for new sets and rebalances, please? There is a world of difference between a one colour tip and overlay application and a set of pink and whites, or at least there is for some of us! :o
