Hi everyone, i'm fairly new to eyelash extensions and like most newbies will take time and practise to get up to speed!! However, I do like to take my time to make sure isolation etc...

2 day i had a client who had been going to a very popular eyelash salon for 3 years, and she came to me for a top-up, i wish i could upload pictures, i was honestly speachless, i actually had to say to her that i couldn't top up her lashes, as they were stuck together, going in every direction but the right way, and clumps of glue. I recommended she go back to the salon and get them removed and to show them the lashes.

However, she didn't want to go back and asked me to remove them and put a new set in, it took me forever to remove as clumps etc, however she was delighted with the lashes i done for her. (Phew!!)

Has anyone came across this before with doing in-fills on other peoples work? Did i do/say the right thing?

PS what should i have charged for removal? i think my prices are too low?

thanks xxx

heyyy ,,

this exact thing happend to me as well with my mum.. she went to a woman who charged £100 and had been doing so for about 1 year and then when i done my course I went to top up her lashes to save her the £50 top up charge from this other woman and i needed the practise.. and when i looked at them they looked like spiders legs they were shocking so i had to remove them all also.

on my course my tutor said removed lashes take just about as long as puttin them in so you should charge maybe about £25 for remove but that is up to you. what is it you charged for removal and then puttin them back in again?

Hi Nicole! thanks for replying!

I've just started really doing the lashes now as a proper business, and wanted to be competitive so i just charged £15 for the removal :-( i wasn't sure what to charge and also it was someone i know. I charged £35 for the hour to put new lashes in, and advised the client to come back next week for another hour, as i didn't want her eyes getting sore from 2 hours treatment.

How long have you been doing the lashes and who did you train with? I paid mega for my training and was not impressed with the company or the aftercare that they promise so greatly on their website!!

xx

I've never infilled over someone else's work. Not sure what I'd charge for removal. I gues it would depend on how long it took. £15-20?

Would love to know the salon she went to in Glasgow. Can you PM me the name?

I would only infill lashes done somewhere else if they were up to a standard... I had plenty of clients coming with terrible jobs to me and usually I suggest that they go back and ask them to be removed as firstly your remover may not work as effective due to adhesive probably being different and also - all those clumps of adhesive are nightmare to remove. I would only agree to remove them if client insisted and she had not other day available to return... recently I had a client coming from another technician with all lashes suck together - I removed them all and done a full set for her - when she saw them she could not believe that they CAN be so even and separated. She said to me that she believed eyelashes need to be stuck together - it is how they are supposed to be - stuck together but at least longer... Any she only came to me because her usual tech was on a holiday - ever since she is regular.. That is the case for a lot of clients who think they need to be all stuck together...
For removal I'm charging 15 - 20£ as it usually takes max. 25 mins to remove (unless I'm removing clumpy lashes - that takes longer)

I dont infill other peoples work. To be honest, I offer a reduced rate to remove and replace. never had anyone turn me down.

I find that most clients have lashes that need too much work, too many need removing and sorting, so i just go from scratch.

Thanks for all your replies! this is a great place to chat and exchange tips! Hope you don't mind but i really don't want to name and shame! lol! thanks again!! xx

i trained with Glamlash in glasgow .. they were really good and if i have any problems they help me out.

i charge between £40 and £50 depending on the look they are looking for :) its hard trying to pull in busines when yu just start doing somthing but im gradually getting there and i have 4 customers that come bck every 2 weeks for their appointments.

i think i would charge between £15 and £20 for removal as well.. i remove some lashes when i am doing a top up as well though just incase they are growin a different way just to tidy them up again and i charge £20 for infills xx

Thanks Nicole! I'm looking to do a conversion course and really fancy Glam Lash!! I am desperate for a new glue this week, do you like theirs? Do you have to do a patch test? xx

heyy .. i use the ilash glue not the glamlash glue.. this is just cause i bought my stuff before i went on the course .. but i used glam lash glue and its great :) buying theirs at the end of this month :)

i am also going to do the glam lash in a flash course for the express sets cannot wait :)

i have only started maybe about 2 months ago but from what i have seen with other peoples work they all dont look the same when they grow out.. some look perfect and then you get others whos are all clumpy with glue so i tend to stay away from touching other peoples work :)
