Hi there has anyone heard of these I thought my course was being run by the edge but the lady in the place where the course is being held has said that it is the Independent training company who is doing the training and just using the edge products. I asked what I would get at the end of it and she said a qualification and I could get insurance after it and that was all, she couldn't tell me who it was accredited by. Anyone know anything about this company or done any training with them, I have tried to research on the internet but can't seem to find a website for them. Thanks

For goodness sake, just train with someone reputable PLEASE! If you have to ask these questions does it not send up a RED flag to you? Call the Edge and ask them if they know of this place? Ask others about their reputation!! (well I guess that is what you are doing here isn't it? :green:) but I'm sure you'd get the answer quicker if you rang The Edge number.

I did a manicure and pedicure course with them and The guild accepted the qualification, professional beauty said they would aswell. Sweet squared accepted it to open my account with them. I found it quite good, but I really wanted to be able to just do pedicures to expand my range as a massage therapist. Personally, I wouldn't do the extensions courses with them but would look at CND or NSI or one of the others. Other threads on here will help you if that's the route you want to go down.

I have heard of this company and as far as I am aware, their training is good - however do not be fooled that you will receive a qualification. The government is very clear of what constitutes a qualification and it has to be approved by Ofqual (Ofqual - Home) however this would take a great deal of time and effort than a one day workshop can provide. These companies write delivery programs and have them approved for insurance by the professional membership organisation- the only disadvantage is that they are the only organisation offering the insurance. In addition, some employers will only recognise a qualification regardless of the insurance aspect. Regardless of how you complete your training, at the end of the day it is about how professional you are, how much self development you have completed and fortunately in our industry there are fantastic resources available to ensure everyone maintains a professional standard and offers top class treatments.
