Hi,

I'm very keen to undertake an eyelash extension course but I'm baffled as to what system would be best, so could I please get some advice? I had them done once myself at a reputable beauty salon, the system they used was Hollywood Lashes and after just a few days they A. began to fall out and B. began to look twisted and bent, even though I did follow the aftercare advice given.

Also, how popular are they with your clients, and is general feedback positive?

Much appreciated :)

I can't speak for individual systems but the people I know that have had eyelash extensions haven't had great stories to tell. Apparently the eyelashes come out really quickly leaving just a few stragglers (that you are unable to remove due to the glue). One girl I know found that several of her own eyelashes had been pulled out!

We were going to introduce it ourselves but after hearing more bad than good, we abandoned the idea.

Advance with caution...:irked:

The problems that you speak of are from them not been applied correctly,
the girl that who said several of her own lashes had been pulled out had been just that PULLED OUT,
eyelash extensions do not damage the natural lash at all when applied correctly,
and the other issue is clients fail to follow the after care advise (when this is given)

emerald maya your experience of lashes sounds like someone who was not fully experienced and they have either fitted lashes that were far too long for your natural lashes or
they have not fitted them to the medium length of natural lashes,
our lashes grow in stages just like any other hair on our body,
when we are isolating your lashes we can see 3 different lengths,
short, medium and long,
short ones are no good as they don't yet have the natural swing,
long ones are no good as these are ready to be replaced by a new lash so there is no point attaching an extension to these,
the medium lash is the ideal candidate for an extension,

This is a very popular service for clients that can afford to have them and it is very addictive as the results are stunning,
every client that has them in my salon all come back for the refills, hth

Thank you both for your opinions and responses.

Have been doing some research and seem to be hearing good things about two particular systems, so I'm going to look further into them both before I book any training. I'm positive there is a market for the treatment especially if the client is satisfied with value for their money. I'm sure if I'm able to master the technique before charging clients they shoud be pleased with the effect and will be happy to return for refill appointments.

Louby Lou can I please ask what the average time span is before your clients come back for infills and do you come upon any problems with them?

Thank you :)
