Hi geeks,
Saw a post on Facebook about someone buying their acetone from their cleaning supplies company to remove product.

I know we need buffered acetone but can't find any info on whether industrial cleaning acetone is really, really bad to use on clients.

I'm looking for evidence/articles/links so I can (genuinely) politely email this person to let them know.

Any ideas or pointers - or am I wrong?

Xx

Of course you are not wrong ... Industrial grade Acetone is not meant to be used on the skin .. It is a raw and unrefined solvent and harsh and extremely dehydrating in its removal of all oils and fat from the skin and nails.

The acetone we use professionally for nail product removal has had allot of chemical work done to it in order for it to be used safely to help remove the product without the excessive dehydrating of the skin.

Doug Schoons' book has much information about acetone and you can quote from it and give appropriate credit to him.

Thank you Geeg Xx
