Hi, I have what I think is an ingrowing hair in my bikini line, but its been there for about a year. I can't get rid of it and I'm not really 100% sure if it is an ingrowing hair or not. It is small, hard and red but i can't see a hair under the surface and have tried squeezing it but nothing comes out. I exfoliate the area regularly and put teatree oil on it but it just won't go. Any ideas on how to get rid of the thing? :irked:

Any help would be appreciated!

If you've had it for a year I would recommend going to the doctor

Hmmm, thanks for replying, but its very small and doesn't cause pain or anything. It is just a bit unsightly (in my opinion) and I would feel silly going to the Dr's about something so trivial.

If it's really small, has been there for a year and doesn't hurt, it's probably not an ingrown hair. A year is a long time for something on the skin not to heal itself.

Ingrown hairs usually look like spots or boils, and you can often see a hair in them.

i wouldn't think of it as trivial if i was a doctor, it may not hurt now but they have a habit of growing infected!!
go and check just for your own peice of mind!! xx

I'd go to the doctors too.

. . . and I thought it was just us 'menfolk' who only got to the Docs once every five years - whether we need to or not!

It might be worth a visit if it bothers you? Certainly if it ever changes size, shape, texture etc - go right away. IMHO - I'd go if it was me just to put my mind at rest.

Jason.

I had something similar on the back of my leg and thought it was an ingrown hair. It turned out to be a cyst. Not saying that yours is but it's always best to get things like lumps checked out. x

That is actually reason enough imo
