I just wanted to post a nail tech insurance story with a happy ending....I have just started out, having done an acrylics and nail art course which was about a week and with a return for infill instruction after two weeks. Faced with the prospect of insuring myself, I phoned a few places and was turned down, they said they did not recognise the course, as there was no reference to VTCT etc on the certificate. I read through lots of stuff on here and time and again came up with the message that short courses wouldnt do for insurance purposes in many cases.
In despair I phoned the salon that did my course, they assured me they were fully trained assessors, and VCTC accredited, I went back with the info they gave me and got insured straight away with ABT.
I realise I still have so much to learn, and am now doing a mani/pedi course at a local college with a health and safety qualification added, but I was ready to give up and am so glad I didnt.
