hi there!

firstly i would like to apologise if this is in the wrong section, i couldn't decide between here of the biz forum! so sorry if its wrong.

ok, so i am currently working in a spa and i am insured through them (i dont do any treatments from home so i have never needed my own private insurance). my sister is organising a charity event for her local young farmers club as one of the male members recently died on his 18th birthday whilst gokarting. she has asked if i would be able to wax two male members (both over the age of 18) chests to raise money. i am happy to do this and i am glad she has got somebody qualified to do it rather than any tom, **** or harry ( espec after what was in the paper a few weeks back), however, do i need to get private insurance for this so that i am covered incase anything goes wrong? any advice would be great! sorry for rambling on and thanks for reading. xxx

You will need to be insured, but talk to your employer as you may be covered, by their insurance, while working outside the spa.

Technically, your employer would have to agree to do the charity event and send you out to do it, but I can't see them saying no as long as you're doing it for free and it's in your own time

Well, I think we should be able to say "D i c k" on here - just like I can say all sorts of other medical terms for male and female body parts! - why does the forum software filter it out??

I'd give BABTAC or The Guild a call and explain your dilemma. I am sure someone can give a day's cover for an experienced therapist like yourself.

Good Luck with the fundraising! x

aww thanks for that. I will have a phone around tomorrow. i never realised it had been filtered out till reading your post then. oops. its not even like i meant it in a rude term; its only a name. but anyhow. at least it cant offend anybody now. xx
