I know there is a zillion insurance threads on here but after looking through 3 pages i can't what i'm looking for.

my question is what should i be looking for when finding insurance?
I'm newly qualified and my course is acredited by The Guild, Are they the best for insurance? will my certificated br recognised with other insurers?

after a quick look i have found the guild offer£2m public liability and BABTAC offerr £3m. How much cover do i realy need?

I will be offering only nails at the moment and on a mobile basis
Thanks

sorry for all the questions

In all honesty they all probably do the same thing. However it's well worth seeing what other things they offer as well as insurance though. I changed to The Guild because of they did a really good deal with a barclaycard PDQ and they often offer me inclusion into free newspaper promotions and voucher things etc.

thanks,
is there anything i need to look out for when deciding which policy?

Hi there,

I recommend BABTAC as they are the best value for money. They do offer 3m Liability and they also offer other benefits to such as magazine subscriptions and free entry to trade shows etc.

I guess it ust depends on who you prefer to go with. In my personal opinion i would say that BABTAC, Professional Beauty, and The Guild, are all equally good just depends on price and different benefits.

Anyone use salon gold freelance for mobile and work from home?

I'm using salon gold and I'm mobile. Quite surprised they sent me a file to print off my own certificate though and claim not to post ANYTHING out :s I know they did definately used to post certificates out. Bit of a pain if you dont have a printer. I bought it online and no where did I have to list what I'm qualified for either or give proof of anything, so really a bit dubious... it says to inform them of any new qualifications you have as soon as you can so your details can be updated, which seems a bit daft since they dont ask what things you were qualified for in the first place. Basically if you say you're qualified in something the list covers.... thats it. Bit disturbing really from the point of view that people could easily not be qualified at all and have bought the insurance, no questions asked. Not that it would do them any good in the long run if something went wrong of course.
