Are we talking all off or landing strip, people often get the Hollywood and Brazillian confused?

The first time is a little uncomfortable,it's a sensitive area and the hair is strong. The length of time taken to wax the area depends on your hairgrowth, the therapists ability, and how much hair you have.
Usually you're looking at around 30mins though this can differ .

I would suggest you trim the hair, not too short though. If you normally shave or use hair removing creams then leave to regrow for approx 3 weeks so the length is correct in order to wax.

Word of mouth is usually the best way to go,you may find someone on here near you.Shame you're not nearer to me as I would happily have done your waxing for you.Hth a little.

ps when booking please double check your therapist is competent in carrying out the intimate waxing as it is a skill in itself.

As a nurse I can't prescribe drugs but my clients tell me that taking a couple of nurofen or paracetamol takes the edge off the pain.
I prefer my clients not to trim their hair prior to waxing because you can guarantee that they trim it too short. I use Wahl clippers on a number 3 to trim any excess.

It is very difficult to say whether or not and how discomfort you will feel as everyone is different and feels this differently. One thing is for sure, if it is your first time being waxed in a new area it will be more uncomfortable the first time and if you continue being waxed regularly (every 4 weeks) it will improve and you will find it half as bad and the hair growth will be weaker so its a win/ win situation.

If you have friends that have had intimate wax done ask them because word of mouth is a good way of finding a good therapist, otherwise have a look in your yellow pages and speak to a salon or therapist near you and find out how experienced they are etc and you will know if you have a good feel there. If you are nervous you could go and book an appointment say for a leg wax first, that way you can see how comfortable you feel with the expertise of that therapist?

Hi Becky
In addition ask if the salon/therapist uses “new generation” wax – this requires oil prior to wax application which acts as a barrier between skin/hair and is far gentler.
Personally I’m an advocate of hard wax for intimate waxing (sometimes called hot or non-strip wax) – new generation hard waxes contain polymers that make the process kinder on skin and provide flexibility to reach parts other waxes can’t reach.

As above do ensure therapist is formally accredited in intimate – both to ensure they are fully trained/skilled to carry out such a soft tissue treatment and are comprehensively insured.
Asking these questions to any local salon should help you find a confident and competent waxer!
(...and the jungle drums now beat loudly for an accredited intimate Geek in Staffs!!)

good luck in search – sure you’ll love the results x

You may find the waxing more painful round your period time so aim for after.Find out whether they trim some might not or they might do a half hearted job, as long as you can grab the hair with your fingers it wont be too short.
Also relax, remember they are going to want to expose the most intimate bits of you and maybe in very undignified positions but they have seen it all before and you have no need to feel uneasy or embarrased and if you tense and fight against positioning it will hurt you more than if you relax.

id suggest finding out a salon that uses hard wax also because i used to get mine done by a girl with a basic waxing qualification and id not had it done before so i thought that was what it was meant to be like, but not i've had it done by my BT who is Kim Lawless trained i realised it doesn't have to be so uncomfortable!!! xx

I would agree with everyone else, find a therapist who is recommended to you or go for something else first and suss them out. Clients tend to dread it but when it is all over they all say that it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be! :)
