Hey all,

I'm a qualified waxer who has been getting quite a few requests for brazilians, hollywoods and the odd 'back, sack and crack'.
Do any of you do this sort of treatment? Where did you attend your course? How much did it cost, and would you recommend?

Thanks in advance geeks!

I am in the same position as you getting lots of request for brazillian/sphynx etc and the odd baseball (bat, balls and dugout -lol), but have always refused as I feel I need specialist training.

As I am a sugaring girlie rather than waxing I wonder whether I would be able to get to grips as it were with hot wax. I was due to go on one of Andy's waxing courses but unfortunately was poorly, so I too am on the lookout for a course. If you find anything, please let me know, as I am not too far away from you in Warrington.

It is another term for a hollywood as far as I know.
That's a relief, i thought you were referring to the bottom area :smack:

Hi Nic,

When looking for any Brazilian/Hollywood waxing course in the UK my advice would be to make sure that (a) the teacher has plenty of experience in performing this treatment in a salon environment, and (b) that the course follows the new National Occupational Standards on intimate waxing published by Habia.

You need to be a confident waxer yourself - Habia recommend a minumum of 2 years industry experience, but this is only a guideline and of course everyone learns at a different pace. It also helps if you are proficient in the use of both strip and non-strip wax, as some courses will teach the technique using a mixture of both waxes.

Andy :D

Thanks for all your replies :) I'm a confident warm waxer, though I've never had the opportunity to try hot wax. Stuck between a rock and a hard place here! :)

Watch out for the next free Geeky Waxing Workshop - it'll give you a chance to play with the new-style hard waxes to see how you get on
