Hi ALL, i was thinking recently about getting a salon system but in this country its exspensive and i just cant afford it, mainly i want it for texting clients and sending out emails and collecting data but i was thinkng if i signed up for a bill iphone, clients could txt ther apps to this phone, i could remind cliens of apps and send them special offers and phoae recieve all my emals and send emails on the phone, it will be alot cheaper than the system but i think it would be a goiphtoe are they hard to think does anyone have an iphone are they hard to use etc xxx

I pretty much run my waxing business from my iPhone now! It has everything I need - client contact details, my diary and e-mails.

If it is just you working alone its a good way of managing your practice, works well for me. I would strongly recommend anyone using an iPhone like this also subscribes to the Apple MobileMe service. This instantly backs up your contacts and diary to a website and if you want your PC / Mac. I use my diary in Outlook when at my desk, and this means my phone and desk diary are always up to date and if I loose / break my phone I have all my contacts and appointments available to me.

I also store all my contacts beginning with the letter Z ... keeps my work contacts away from personal contacts and I know who is business and who is pleasure.

i was looking into getting an iphone or blackberry for the same reason.
In the end as the deals were quite pricey to say you hardly got any minutes or texts i got a nokia e71 looks exactly like a blackberry, well as in the shape and qwerty keypad but looks so much nicer and as its a nokia v.v.easy to use and the instant email and internet is so so easy to use i prefer to email people than text now.
i pay £35 a month for 1400 minutes unlimited texts and 500mb of internet data which is alot! i used it for 4 days solid and checked how much i had left and i had 497m,lol

I am absolutly in love with my blackberry I dont know what I would do without it. I am now not having missed opportunities from emails I receieve when Im out as they come straight to my mobile and I can reply quickly and easy to them. My diary is synced to laptop and I honestly cannot tell you how much easier my life has been made just in the last 4 days of having it. Im actually really scared as to what i would do without it! :)

I have an iphone but I must admit ive never really used it for business use, well apart from checking emails thats it.

Mat is the diary built into the calender or is it a seperate download ?

I can't live without my blackberry, simple and easy to use and its my life organiser! So easy to text/reply to e-mails and more.

For sending bulk e-mails to people though its easier and simpler (and much much cheaper unless you get a massive free bundle in your price plan) to use a web based SMS sending site. You can then keep your mobile number anonymous if its your private number you dont want clients calling from.

I don't use my iPhone for business but I couldn't live without it! It is my laptop, stereo, telly and phone all in 1!

They have just resleased free updates also for the MMS ability on the phone too :)

My boyfriends dad uses his iphone for his appointments - he says life is so much easier!

I'm a bit of a techno phobe at tmes and do enjoy my good old pencil and paper!

Would you say its really helping your business?? ie is it paying for itself?
