Hi does anyone know why you might get irritated from a spray tan? I sent off for some samples and tested one on my friend, it came out really nice but after a couple of days her legs started itching and are sore, they still the same a week later. She has never had this problem before and doesn't have exzema or anything. So why is this ? Advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Unfortunately as human beings there is always a chance someone could have an allergic reaction to anything applied to the skin...this is why it is advisable to patch test anyone new to you or if you are trying out a different solution on an existing customer
HTH

It's a pleasure Tiger(is that your real name??LOL??)

us humans are funny creatures when it comes to adverse reactions...its going to happen sometime and all we can do as therapists is to mitigate risk to those we treat as well as be proficient in how we deal with such adverse issues with our customers.

Patch testing, which isn't necessarily conclusive in itself, does tick the box of "adequate risk assessment" ...do that and if all goes wrong deal with the issue correctly and that should satisfy the most stringent of insurers

What tan was it?I got a new tan and I tested it on myself my friend and my cuz iv been itching non stop and went scaley lol my pal actualy turned green the guid and the actual tan even aftr scrubbing and my cuz is an awfull shade of brown we only done them on sat too I looked up the companys website they don't do returns......I will never ever ever stray from tantricks again!I had no problems ever with tantricks I should of just stuck to them lol even if websites do have great deals lol I now have two litres of tan il never use that'll teach me lol just curious if it was same company as I got mine from xx

You are without doubt forgiven LOL :Love:

Itching is a common reaction if you have an allergy to parabens. A lot of spray tan solutions contain parabens so this may well have been the problem.
A lot of manufacturers are now producing paraben-free products so maybe next time you can check if a solution contains parabens.

Hiya Mas-tans my cousin went very scaley too. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to say which tan it was as i dont want to upset anyone. As i have heard quite alot of people like it, but its one i wouldn't use now. Did you not try a sample first before you bought it? Maybe you could try selling it on ebay lol? :green:
