Is 1:2 necessary Wella Color Touch and Color Touch Plus?

My question is this, Is it necessary to only mix the Color Touch pigments in the standard formula of 1:2 with the Emulsions? Has anyone one mixed in equal parts 1:1 for better saturation and coverage?

If you don't follow the mixing guidelines, the pH of the colour will be different.
If you need better coverage /more saturation either add a darker shade to make up half of your formula or use koleston instead.
