Hi

I have a 'client' who manages to crack her gel horizontally across the middle of the nail. I have already posted a thread and worked out the reasons as to why this happening but now I just wanted to ask if its repairable or if you have to take it off and start again?

It could be happening due to them being too long or/and the stress area not being built up enough.....mixed with her being heavy handed of course.

I have found that cracks in gel have to be removed...otherwise they just reappear through the new gel. I just file down that area to remove the crack...once you are finished the nail will look very odd and there will be a huge dent in it, but there is no need to remove ALL the gel...just the cracked part. Then just prep and infill as normal making sure to build that area back up. x
