hi geeks' my client just called to say that 1 nail pinged off completely last night now 2 have just broke 0ff the natural nail is still there and fine..

she had a new set 2 wks ago i did french tips as she is wanting n/o when she feels they are long enough, she has them about 3cm over her finger tip at the moment but is wanting them longer.. i think it is this causing the breakages as when i first did them at a sensible length there were no breakages and no lifting am i right or is it the nails are too weak ?? i use nsi attraction l&P:rolleyes:

Yes I think it could be the length of the nail, but I think it is your client who is using her nails as tools and not like jewels.. I also have one lady who has long nails and I always advise her not too as she is doing a complete refurb in her house, she has only just called me saying that she has broken one due to peeling off wallpaper grrrrrr!! why wont they listen lol and why do clients think that their nails are made of steel when really they are enhanced to make their fingers/hands look beautiful!!

hth
Sue:)

My rant is now over :)

lol yep i agree !! she is usually good but i think this length is no good i will advise a shorter more practicle length!! thank-you:lol:

If she's not used to long nails then that could cause it, as could not having enough strength in the apex.

Maybe try to coax her into having them shorter until she gets used to them and educating her on how NOT to use them :wink2:

How often does she come in for a rebalance? If she is starting to break them at 2 weeks then that is when she needs to be coming in for a rebalance. . . every 2 weeks.

thanks for all your advice, i have just soaked them off and done n/o at a sensible length.. thing is she only paid me £10 as thats all she brought with her it should have been £20 as i had already given her £5 discount as i knew she was short !! i think this one calls for a new thread of advice !!:irked:

she has them 3cm over her fingertip !!!!!!!!!????????

is that a typo? do you mean 3mm?

if they are 3 cm over, she would need a nailbed at least 3cm long for them to have a chance.

yeah omg i've gone mad lol should have been 1.1/2 cm lol err silly me sorry guys she would defo break them !!!

well thats still a fair old length for a tip, [glad its not the 3cm though:lol:]

if a client has this much tip you must make sure you compensate for the length by building the stress area up a bit more so that it can cope with the extra length.
