hi im about to start renting a room but want to see if wot i will be paying is a good deal or not but im struggling to find people in the same area to ask wot there paying rent wise. im going to be geting 1 month free, then 3 months 60 - 40 split to me then disuction of a fixed rent. inclded in that im getting a nice pedi chair hot cabi a few dermalogica products left by the last therapist unopened, a footsie pedi bowl, some hot mits, the use of a caci machine, steraliser, wax pot and 5 tubs of unopened wax the use of the dermalogica acount and jessica acount wich saves me the huge minimum order i will have the use of a receptionist so wont miss bookings and can work any hours i want this is based within in a hairdressers thats just been refurbished in a small town on the highstreet

Hi, I pay 60/40 split to me and i supply own products, i have use of chairs etc, i think this is regular practice as i have no overheads bills etc. I think you are getting a good deal:green:

thanks i thought it sounded good also i buy my own retail but give her 10% how does you retail work.

yes i think this is a good deal, esp first month free! very good!

but after the 3 months are you hoping to negotiate a weekly/monthly rent?

60/40 works well at first, because if you earn nothing you pay nothng, but when your bringing in a decent amount are you going to be happy handing over that kind of percentage??

i would try to get a weekly rent going on, and the positives for your landlady is that they get rent even when your on hols...

i pay £75 a week, but i do pay for my own electric, but thats not too much.

hope this helps

p.s. jealous that you got a caci machine on the deal !!

Have not actually done any as yet so have no idea, sorry only been in salon for a couple of months, not much help:irked:

hi yes after 3 months im hoping to get a fixed rent for £300 a month its great i got the caci the only prob is im not trained in it and iv herd its exspensive to train in it. the salon owner is looking it up for me.

i dont understand this giving her 10% for retail sales? esp ones that you have achieved and has nothing to do with her? that cant be right can it??

The products are displayed and sold in her shop! sound fair to me.

yes the products will be displyed in her shop i think the main reason for this is that it is her dermalogica acount she could not let me use it then i would have to get my own acount with them and have a £2000 minimum order wich i cant afford. and have a hell of a lot of money tied up in stock that could take me a long time to shift as im just a one man band. x
