Can anyone offer advice or tips on how to improve the dry skin on my heals and big toes?

I give myself regular pedicures and give my feet a light going over my heals each night with my file before I shower and them put foot cream on but I'm still left with dry skin and slightly cracked heals. I must admit I spend almost of my time either with no shoes on or flip flops unless it's wet or cold so I guess that don't help.
It's really driving me mad, I would be grateful of any help or tips

Hi Effie, sorry to hear about your poorly feet , have you had a look at the Callus Peel treatment? You can put the treatment patches on, wrap in cling film and relax for 15mins and then gently scrape away all the hard skin! Feet will feel brand new:D, i hope this helps x

I will look into it, thank you.
I just want nice looking heals, they are better than they use to be before I done my mani and pedi course but just not 100%

~Flexitol heel cream is the best I've tried it's available from boots etc, put it on every night and you'll never need to file again.

bio sculpture heel balm, hubby even puts it on his elbows lol

I have to second flexitol heel balm. I get the 500ml for clients. They always buy the retail version to use at home.

do you get yours wholesale? if so where from? I get through tons and would love to be able to sell to my clients x

I used to have really bad cracks in my heels and although I would treat it externally and get rid of the surface dry skin, the cracks kept coming back (and they hurt) and I started thinking maybe it would be better treated from within, as it were

I read somewhere that if you have bad cracks in your skin you could be a bit low on your essential fatty acids and taking something like evening primrose oil capsules could help. So I got some, and 2 weeks later the cracks had healed.

I'm no expert but this certainly helped me, and it's much easier to keep it down now as the dry/hard skin doesn't build up so much or go so deep.

Urea is the key ingredient to relieve cracked heels. Try to get a cream with 25% Urea in it, not sure if you can get 25% from the chemist, but your local podiatrist or foot health practitioner will be able to. (I can send you a tube, costs around £5 if you can't find anything locally) Flexitol or Simply Feet brands are both very very good. However the cream will not get into the problem areas until the areas of callus have been removed, this is where callus peel should help, however for the cost of a pack of callus peel you could pay for a session with a podiatrist or foot health practitioner who could take a good look at your problem heels and debride the areas with a scalpel.

Cracked heels can occur for a number of different reasons, so give it some thought; and I'm sorry to say it; but mabye consider getting some sandals which have a heel box to protect and relieve the stress on the heel pad.

. prolonged standing
. inactive sweat glands
. open backed shoes
. obesity
. flat or high-arched feet
. excema or psoriasis

Gewhol it is a German company who have specialised in feet products for 30 years. They all work, great products that are natural too.

I am always on my feel all day and either have open back shoes on or no shoes at all so I'm guessing both of these don't help :0/

That's interesting, something I will look into. Thank you

I only know of the Callus Peel kit for professional use Effie; but I should think the starter kit would be great as long as it has all the bits of the treatment you need in there x

Im from the USA and I use Bath and Body Works Cracked Heel Treatment on my heels. It contains alpha hydroxy acid in it and I swear by this stuff. I tell all my clients to use it. I apply it before bedtime and before putting on socks and shoes. I would assume that anything that as a chemical exfoliant in it will work.

I've found a company called body beautiful spa and the foot butter balm is amazing! It's completely natural and I only needed to put it on once a day before my socks or before bed to see a massive improvement in my feet! The website is www.bodybeautifulspa.co.uk
