Junk emails

Hi,is there anything I can do to prevent getting so many unwanted emails in my in box please ..obviously apart from visiting different sights on the internet...
I came home yesterday and there was 45 emails in my inbox that were all crap! and its such a pain having to delete them all.:irked:

Depending on your ISP you should be able to set junk filters. I use Windows Live Mail and it filters out "junk" mail into a separate folder and also flashes up items it thinks are "phishing" mail.
