Hi guys im new to forum and to sculpting acrylic nails. so for give me for using wron termanology etc.

Im finding when i sculpt the nail when i take the form off. the nail is extreamly wide are there any tips that you could give to help me "pull" in the sides other than excessive filing.

sorry if this question is extreamly basic but like i said ive just done the first part of my training course.

Many thanks guys

Hi

As soon as you take off the form you need to pinch with both your thumbs just at both edges, or you can buy pinching tweezers from Ezflow that make it easier to do. Hope that this helps. Abi

If the nail is extremely wide then i would say you need to look at the fitment of your form,
try to fit it narrower if that makes any sense, hth

welcome to the site

pinching is ok for comps but not for salon nails as regular pinching will cause damage to the nail plate.

Use better forms with a better shape. If you are using horseshoe forms they are the WORST for making wide ugly nails.

You should not have to pinch to get a good shape this can cause great discomfort to clients and can even cause onycholysis .. I've been doing nails for 25 years and never pinched them to get the shape I wanted.

Thank you ladies.... you advise is appreciated. I used creative forms when i was training and couldnt get them at the wholesalers. but im going to get some asap i agree the form is defenately the key.

i dont think i will try the pinchers i need to work on perfecting my sculpting instead.

Thanks once again.

Good girl kate.

CND dont do wholesalers but they are there to serve so just call them and get onto their customer list and you'll be able to get anything you want and from the legitimate CND supplier who are called SWEET SQUARED, 08452106060. X
