Hi everyone!
I have just qualified as a beauty therapist and I am very excited to get started . The problem is I am really unsure on how to get started ......currently i am working part time and don’t have loads of money to rent my own shop.
I was thinking about renting a room, doing it from home, going mobile, having a beauty van......but just not sure what to do!
Would love any advice on how you lovely people got started and also how you got your name out there too ( I don’t really use social media and everyone keeps telling me that I should!)
Any advice would be gratefully taken on board
❤️❤️❤️❤️

There are a lot of similar questions in here and lots of advice. Do have a search.

I started out in a spare bedroom at home. Looking back, it was lovely. At the time I wanted more!!!
If you think “oh it’s just a home salon” you will get clients who think like that. If you treat it as a business, you will get clients that understand that. I would bend over backwards to fit people in, and work late nights. You need pricelists, a Facebook page (just get started with it) and products that you love. It may not all happen overnight.
I have friends with home salons specialising in facials and charging the earth and others who charge less than salons locally. Think about what you’re going to offer and the best way to reach the clientele you want.
Good luck

Hi Charlie,

How are you?

I am the area manager for Kathleen Natural.

We are a relatively new premium British brand.
We are organic and natural and animal friendly and also Vegan.

We specialise in skincare body care and non surgical devices. Our facial starter kit would be perfect for you.

We also offer a marketing service to help build new businesses such as yourself, this can include social media, websites and printing etc.

If you DM me your email address I can send you our different packages that suits all businesses and all price ranges.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks

Hi Charlie,
What location are you looking to rent a room in? I have a number of rooms available in Birkenhead, Crosby, Openshaw, Stoke-on-Trent and Warrington. All clinic locations are finished to an extremely high standard and are all CQC and Home Office registered. Message me if you would like any more information.

Hi Rachel

I am City & Guilds qualified beauty therapist and will be setting up a new treatment room from home. Is it possible to have some further details about the products you supply?

Regards

Maria

Hi Charlie, I graduated last year & work part time from home & part time in a spa. You learn so much from working with other people who are really experienced & it’s a regular steady income.
It can get a bit lonely & stressful just working for yourself especially if you have a quiet week.
